Basic Job Functions:
- Implements, tests, and maintains all manufacturing equipment controls.
- Performs necessary maintenance of equipment in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
- Assists in the installation and qualification of manufacturing equipment, troubleshoots day-to-day manufacturing issues, and identifies or implements system improvements to enhance throughput, yield, and product performance.
Education/Experience:
- 3-7 years of electrical/electronic/controls experience.
- Associate Degree in Electrical, Robotics, or Electronic Engineering preferred.
- If no degree, at least 5+ years of verifiable experience in a related field (e.g., Semiconductors, Automotive).
- Journeyman's Card from an accredited apprenticeship program is preferred.
Required Skills/Competencies:
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.
- Proficient in CMMS.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills on manufacturing lines.
- Proficiency in robotics, electrical/electronic, mechanical, and vacuum systems.
- Ability to read prints and suggest modifications as needed.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical control systems for manufacturing equipment.
- Test new controls and establish control functions as designated by the Controls department.
- Download software updates and maintain software databases.
- Assist IT with setup, installation, and testing of communication devices for PLCs.
- Research, prepare, and present solutions to control problems and continuous improvement projects.
- Document issues and follow up on control-related problems.
- Provide documentation for testing procedures and results.
- Assist new equipment commissioning technicians in testing control systems.
- Interface with company and supplier representatives.
- Maintain effective communication and teamwork.
- Adhere to safety procedures and maintain good housekeeping.
- Perform predictive and preventative maintenance.
- Develop and implement electrical preventative maintenance tasks and schedules.
- Troubleshoot robotic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Proficient in Maximo reporting and parts search.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisor or lead.
