Basic Job Functions:

  • Implements, tests, and maintains all manufacturing equipment controls.
  • Performs necessary maintenance of equipment in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
  • Assists in the installation and qualification of manufacturing equipment, troubleshoots day-to-day manufacturing issues, and identifies or implements system improvements to enhance throughput, yield, and product performance.

Education/Experience:

  • 3-7 years of electrical/electronic/controls experience.
  • Associate Degree in Electrical, Robotics, or Electronic Engineering preferred.
  • If no degree, at least 5+ years of verifiable experience in a related field (e.g., Semiconductors, Automotive).
  • Journeyman's Card from an accredited apprenticeship program is preferred.

Required Skills/Competencies:

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficient in CMMS.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills on manufacturing lines.
  • Proficiency in robotics, electrical/electronic, mechanical, and vacuum systems.
  • Ability to read prints and suggest modifications as needed.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical control systems for manufacturing equipment.
  • Test new controls and establish control functions as designated by the Controls department.
  • Download software updates and maintain software databases.
  • Assist IT with setup, installation, and testing of communication devices for PLCs.
  • Research, prepare, and present solutions to control problems and continuous improvement projects.
  • Document issues and follow up on control-related problems.
  • Provide documentation for testing procedures and results.
  • Assist new equipment commissioning technicians in testing control systems.
  • Interface with company and supplier representatives.
  • Maintain effective communication and teamwork.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and maintain good housekeeping.
  • Perform predictive and preventative maintenance.
  • Develop and implement electrical preventative maintenance tasks and schedules.
  • Troubleshoot robotic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Proficient in Maximo reporting and parts search.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisor or lead.
