Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
Wingstop Restaurants Inc., Arlington, Texas, United States, 76000
Wingstop is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to help build scalable, reliable, and maintainable test automation frameworks. You’ll be a critical part of the engineering team—writing testable code, automating functional and regression tests, and integrating these into CI/CD pipelines. You love breaking things with style and automating workflows.
What We’ll Need
Design and develop robust, reusable test automation frameworks (e.g., using Selenium, Playwright, xUnit/NUnit, etc.)
Implement tests using modern practices like the Page Object Model (POM), data-driven testing, and API mocking
Collaborate with developers to integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.)
Own quality for features from spec to production, including functional, regression, and performance testing
Conduct code reviews of test scripts and help define best practices across the QA team
Build out and manage test environments and test data strategies
Identify, log, and triage bugs—ensuring issues are reproducible and resolved efficiently
Monitor test coverage, analyze automation ROI, and help reduce manual QA bottlenecks
Work hands-on in a full-stack .NET and Angular environment—testing UI, API, and backend components
Frameworks: Selenium WebDriver, xUnit/NUnit, Playwright, Postman
DevOps: GitHub Actions, Docker
Cloud: AWS
Test Management: TestRail or equivalent
Tech Ecosystem: Full-stack .NET Core backend and Angular front-end application layers
Work with engineers who are obsessed with quality
Influence testing culture across the org, not just write test cases
Build scalable frameworks that help ship faster and safer
Flexible work environment and generous benefits
The freedom to geek out on automation innovation
What You’ll Need
3+ years of experience in software testing with a focus on test automation
Hands-on experience with automation tools like Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, RestAssured, or similar
Solid understanding of test design principles, including modularity and reusability
Experience working with RESTful APIs, Swagger/Postman, and backend test validation
Familiarity with CI/CD tools and infrastructure-as-code concepts
Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum development environments
Must have experience testing modern .NET (Core/6+) and Angular applications in a full-stack context
Bonus points for experience in performance testing (e.g., JMeter, k6) or security testing
Who You Are No job is too small. You recognize that the real work happens in the restaurants, and everything we do should support their success. You stay humble, roll up your sleeves, and always look for ways to help. You learn from others and contribute wherever you can.
You care deeply about doing great work and driving results. You’re curious, ask questions, and seek out opportunities to improve. You don’t just point out problems—you bring solutions, ideas, and perspectives that move the team forward.
You take full responsibility for your work and see things through to completion. You aren’t afraid to fail because you know that failure is a part of learning and growth. You take action, move fast, and keep pushing forward.
You lead with empathy, respect, and emotional intelligence. You collaborate effectively, fostering a culture of trust and constructive feedback. You understand the importance of teamwork and ensure that your actions build others up rather than break them down.
