Coordinator Of Athletic Compliance

Western Kentucky University, a member of Conference USA and a Football Bowl Subdivision NCAA member institution, seeks to hire an individual for the position of Coordinator of Athletic Compliance. This is a 12-month, full-time position. This position will report directly to the Senior Associate Athletics Director of Compliance and Student Services. Applicants must have a commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of WKU, Conference USA, and the NCAA. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Monitor academic, amateurism, eligibility, and financial aid rules of the NCAA, Conference USA, and Western Kentucky University. Evaluate transcripts for incoming freshmen and transfer student-athletes. Monitor and assist with the progress of prospective student-athletes through the NCAA Eligibility Center process. Maintain records of student-athletes outside competition, employment, and other activities related to their amateurism status. Work alongside the admissions, financial aid, and registrar's offices. Monitor and assist with the progress of prospective student-athletes through the institutional admissions process. Coordinate receipt and distribution of student-athlete transcripts and student records as needed for eligibility and/or waiver purposes. Interpret and train on NCAA rules, policies, and regulations for students, coaches, athletic staff and representatives of athletics interest. Coordinate educational sessions with pertinent parties as needed. Provide rules interpretations to coaches as needed. Oversee, audit, and review compliance forms, policies, and procedures. Monitor new NCAA legislation. Report information required by the NCAA and Conference USA. Participate with amateurism/agents oversight. Participate in the preparation of NCAA squad lists, national letters of intent, and financial aid agreements. Special projects as assigned by the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Compliance. Knowledge and Skills Considered Essential for Success: Experience with NCAA waivers, monitoring, and international student eligibility. Experience working with NCAA Eligibility Center and Compliance Assistant. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to make decisions independently without oversight from supervisors. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy. Must be able to use Microsoft Office. Strong attention to detail. Must be self-motivated and team-oriented. Excellent organization, interpersonal, and communication skills. Must be willing and able to work evenings and weekends. Must be willing to travel on an occasional basis. Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree. At least one year of full-time, part-time, or volunteer experience in a university athletic compliance office. Working knowledge of NCAA rules, LSDBi and CA software.
