Messer stands apart because we put what matters first, and you matter. Purpose of Position: Manage and deliver the Project Execution groups procurement requirements. Lead and manage project procurement activities related to the assigned projects of the Messer Project Execution Group. Support current procurement information (pricing, delivery times, etc.) for the Project Execution proposals group. Negotiate and manage frame agreements (MSA) with global/regional vendors for the Americas. Coordinate and develop with the Project Execution Team (Project Managers) project-specific procurement plans. Manage the entire project bidding process. Prepare and issue bid comparisons. Assist project managers in selecting appropriate vendors/contractors to meet project goals. Ensure procurement project activities are completed in accordance with safety, quality and project schedule goals. Develop and implement consistent request for proposals or quotes and commercial processes in alignment with Messer guidelines. Manage procurement reporting/communication functions for ongoing projects to the respective project manager. Implement best practices to ensure reliable delivery to internal stakeholders, leverage sourcing across multiple projects, identify bundle opportunities, improve internal business partner relationships, optimize the supply chain, improve internal compliance, understand business strategies, and provide appropriate support. Develop, build and maintain relationships with key suppliers to maximize value and own/deliver against procurement project targets. Bring new procurement/sourcing ideas to improve Messers competitiveness. Principal Responsibilities: Procurement Activities Coordinate with resources assigned to Project Execution purchasing activities (buyers, expeditors, logistics, etc.). Identify vendors/contractors who can meet project requirements and goals. Interface with Messers legal team on contract terms and redlining; ensure procurement involvement on projects and proposals. Direct key activities in the preparation and execution of procurement processes to support project goals. Deliver targets Coordinate identification of initiatives to deliver to budget targets and meet general project objectives. Contribute to project targets by supporting the assigned project manager. Ensure procurements are completed in compliance with defined timelines and budget targets. Align procurement objectives with Project Execution strategies and understand regional implications. Resolve conflicts and set priorities for the project. Build relationships with senior management in Engineering, Project Management, Operations and Legal to maximize procurement value. Procurement Process Maintain and update a central list of vendors/contractors/suppliers. Own the entire RFQ process from bid package development to bidding, RFI responses, and bid tab generation for review with the project manager. Assemble and distribute complete bid packages to vendors/contractors. Generate clear bid tabs with pricing, schedule, scope, quality and references. Perform negotiations and create contracts; ensure compliance with Messer procurement policies. Provide monthly procurement status reporting to project managers and standardize/timely procurement progress communications. Supplier Relationships Manage interactions with key suppliers/contractors; evaluate safety and quality performance. Explore joint supplier improvement opportunities and coordinate purchases with Project Managers. Prepare procurement plans, communicate process changes, and participate in project meetings. Prepare reports on purchase status and promote Messer values and ethics in supplier engagements. Foster teamwork, integrity, safety compliance, and codes of conduct in dealings with suppliers and partners. Qualifications Basic Qualifications Minimum undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain required. Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or relevant business with progressively increasing responsibilities, including at least 2 years leading sourcing events or procurement activities for industrial plants or construction. Travel at least 25% of the time. Preferred Qualifications Six Sigma or Lean tools expertise desired. Understand P2P process and experience with procurement technologies/tools. Multinational experience. The salary range for this position is $98,000-$144,000.
