Messer stands apart because we put what matters first, and you matter. Purpose of Position: Manage and deliver the Project Execution group7s procurement requirements. Lead & manage the project procurement activities related to the assigned projects of the Messer Project Execution Group. Support current procurement information (pricing, delivery times etc) for the Project Execution proposals group. Negotiate and manage frame agreements (MSA) with global/regional vendors for the Americas. Coordinate and develop with Project Execution Team (Project Managers) project specific procurement plans. Manage the entire project bidding process. Prepare and issue bid comparisons. Assist project managers in selecting appropriate vendors/contractors to meet project goals. Ensure procurement project activities are completed in accordance with safety, quality and project schedule goals. Develops and implements consistent request for proposals or quotes and commercial processes in alignment with Messer Guidelines. Manage procurement reporting/communication functions for the ongoing projects to the respective project manager. Implements best practices to ensure reliable delivery to internal stakeholders, leverage sourcing across multiple projects, identify bundle opportunities, improve internal business partner relationships, optimize supply chain, improve internal compliance, understand business strategies and project goals, and provide appropriate support. Develop, build and maintain relationships with key suppliers to maximize value to Messer. Own & deliver against procurement project targets and bring new procurement/sourcing ideas to improve Messer7s competitiveness. Principal Responsibilities: Procurement Activities Coordinate with resources assigned to Project Execution purchasing activities (buyers, expeditors, logistics, or other team members). Identify vendors/contractors who can deliver to project requirements/goals. Interface with Messer's legal team on contract or T&Cs redlining; ensure procurement involvement early on projects and proposals. Direct key activities in the preparation and execution of procurement activities and processes to support project procurement goals. Deliver targets Coordinate the identification of initiatives to deliver to budget targets and meet general project objectives. Contribute to the delivery of project targets by supporting the assigned project manager. Ensure procurements are completed in compliance with defined project timelines and budget requirements. Align Procurement objectives with Project Execution strategies and understand regional business strategy and implications for procurement needs. Resolve conflicts and set priorities for the project. Build relationships with senior management in Engineering, Project Management, Operations and Legal to maximize procurement value. Procurement Process Maintain and update a central list of vendors/contractors/suppliers for project needs. Own the entire RFQ process from bid package development to bidding, RFI responses, and bid tab generation for review with the project manager. Assemble and distribute complete bid packages to vendors/contractors. Generate bid tabs with pricing, schedule, scope, quality and references; perform negotiations and create contracts; ensure compliance to Messer procurement policies. Provide monthly procurement status reports to respective project managers; standardize and automate tactical activities to provide regular progress reports. Supplier Relationships Manage interactions with key suppliers/contractors and evaluate supplier performance for safety and quality. Joint supplier searches for improvement opportunities. Coordinate purchases with Project Managers and maintain procurement plans to support Project Managers. Communicate process changes and improve buyer-customer interface; participate in project meetings. Prepare reports on purchases status and promote Messer values including ethics and safety. Foster teamwork and mutual respect; ensure staff and suppliers comply with safety guidelines and Messer ethics and code of conduct. Basic Qualifications Minimum undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain required. Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or relevant business with progressively increasing responsibilities; at least 2 years leading sourcing events or procurement for industrial plants or construction. Travel at least 25% of the time. Preferred Qualifications Six Sigma or Lean tools expertise desired. Understand P2P process and experience with procurement technologies and tools. Multinational experience. The salary range for this position is $98,000-$144,000.
