Job Title: Structural Fitter
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Structural Fitter to join our team in constructing water towers and storage tanks. You will be responsible for fitting and fabricating structural components using blueprints and drawings. Your role will involve reading blueprints, measuring materials, cutting, laying out, fitting up, and tack welding using flux core. You will also fit platforms, ladders, walkways, and other structural components required for the tanks, working primarily with carbon steel, channels, I beams, angles, and plates.
Responsibilities
Fit and fabricate structural components for water towers and storage tanks.
Read and interpret blueprints and drawings accurately.
Measure and cut materials precisely.
Layout, fit up, and tack weld structural components using flux core.
Fit platforms, ladders, walkways, and other structural elements as needed.
Determine orientation and degrees for fit-ups.
Work with carbon steel, channels, I beams, angles, and plates.
Essential Skills
5+ years of structural fitting experience.
Proficiency in welding with flux core (must pass a 2G flux test).
Ability to read blueprints and a tape measure accurately.
Experience operating an overhead crane.
Skillful use of a hand torch.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience operating fabrication machines like rolls, presses, plasmas, and bandsaws.
Prior experience with fitting tanks is a plus.

Work Environment
The work environment is a non-climate controlled, large shop handling heavy materials. The standard shift is from 6 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed. Be prepared to transition to a night shift for two months, which will not occur for at least six months.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
