The Houston-Galveston Area Council is one of the largest regional planning commissions in the country with a diverse service area of 13 counties and more than 7 million people. We are the pulse of our region addressing issues that cross city limits and county lines every single day. Procurement activity of goods/services of varied amounts utilizing varied procurement methods Develop requests for proposals/qualifications and manage the solicitation through contract award Perform requests for bid/quotes and issue purchase order as applicable Be the subject matter expert and provide interpretation of policy and procedure to contractors and end users Key Qualifications Applicable experience may substitute for education Strong experience in procurement of commodities and complex services Strong background in commodity procurement of varied types and extensive knowledge in large bid tabulations Knowledge of governmental bidding and solicitation practices along with OMB standards Experience with accounting and purchase order software Proficiency in all Microsoft Office suite of applications Do you have Bachelor's degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study 3 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, school or in job related duties
