Electrical Engineer
Job Description
Join our team as an Electrical Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in designing and maintaining electrical systems for chemical plant processes. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic and evolving environment, focusing on process management, project management, and electrical design. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of electrical systems, troubleshooting issues, and implementing preventative maintenance programs.
Responsibilities
Design and maintain electrical systems for chemical plant processes.
Manage customer demands related to scheduling, costs, and project milestones.
Provide consultative input on electrical design and troubleshooting at substations.
Work closely with controls engineers to tackle projects and upgrade facilities.
Troubleshoot problems and plan preventative maintenance programs.
Recommend solutions to electrical problems and oversee repairs.
Ensure electrical systems and controls meet industry standards and codes.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Associate's degree acceptable with relevant industry experience.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering and power distribution.
Proficiency in electrical design and project management.
Knowledge of Microstation or similar design software.
Strong interpersonal skills to manage competing deadlines and priorities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in chemical manufacturing, oil and gas, food/beverage, or power plants.
Familiarity with power distribution and control panel design.
Knowledge of medium voltage power distribution and switchgear design.
Experience with hazardous area electrical design and considerations.
Proficiency in developing electrical installation packages for bids.
Understanding of control system architectures and industrial networking.
Familiarity with PLC systems, HMI, and distributed control systems.
Experience with instrumentation design and operations.
Exposure to process control design and packaging line designs.
Knowledge of motor control centers and variable frequency drives.
Work Environment
This position is based primarily at the corporate office, with regular visits to the plant and substations on campus. You will work collaboratively with design teams, plant managers, and other engineers, providing a versatile and growth-oriented environment. The facility is undergoing upgrades, offering opportunities for involvement in modernization efforts.

This is a Contract position based out of Sauget, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $75.00/hr.
