An international MEP engineering firm providing consulting, design, and project management services across the United States and the Middle East is looking to add an Electrical Engineer to their Chicago office!
Job Description:
Lead the complete design of lighting, power, and fire alarm systems for projects of all sizes, including comprehensive equipment selection
Develop detailed contract documents, electrical load calculations, single-line diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications
Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to produce design documentation aligned with architectural preferences
Assess system alternatives and evaluate existing infrastructure for retrofit or upgrade opportunities
Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
Manage and coordinate project documentation across internal teams and with external clients, architects, and contractors
Plan and analyze construction methodologies, recommending optimal approaches for electrical installations
Oversee the execution of electrical systems, ensuring timely and cost-effective project completion
Support bidding and construction phases by reviewing proposals, responding to RFIs, evaluating shop drawings, conducting site walk-throughs, and preparing field observation reports
Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems on-site
Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments for new developments or infrastructure upgrades
Serve as a technical resource within the office, mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of continuous learning
Optimize energy efficiency and implement low-carbon design practices
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
2+ years of experience in electrical design and construction for commercial, residential, or industrial projects
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM PowerTools)
Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
