Special Events and Supply Coordinator, TUPD Location: New Orleans, LA The Special Events and Supply Coordinator is responsible for the deployment of law enforcement resources in support of special events and police details, including events initiated and sponsored by the university. The coordinator will review and evaluate special event deployment plans and requests dealing with traffic conditions, crowd control, security needs and the use of specialized equipment. The coordinator will liaison with various segments of the police department, as well as with other university departments and outside agencies, necessary to appropriately staff special events and police details. The coordinator will be responsible for the handling of billing and managing accounts as it relates to special event coordination. The Special Events and Supply Coordinator will also handle Quartermaster duties for the police department. The Coordinator will be responsible for the general oversight of the police department’s equipment and supply function, to include, issuing equipment and other supplies to department personnel, identifying, and evaluating “police specific” equipment, making equipment and supply purchases, and maintaining inventory records. Qualifications

Should have good judgement and strong analytical skills. Strong communication skills –written and verbal Excellent numeracy skills with an attention to detail. Knowledge of accounting practices and inventory controls. Law enforcement knowledge in special event security, traffic control and resource deployment. Proficiency in the use of computer programs, to include Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn and operate the computer program that consolidate records, streamline operations, and improve management of personnel Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to maintain a residential telephone number, which must be listed with the department. Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time. Excellent organizational, project management, time management skills and ability to cope with limited resources, seize opportunities and think creatively Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required 5 years relevant experience in a law enforcement setting Minimum of two-year special event planning or related work experience Must have a valid and unrestricted (not including corrective lens needs) U.S. Driver’s license Must meet the Tulane University Motor Vehicle Policy criteria to become authorized as a driver Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Public or Business Administration, Criminology, Criminal Justice Experience working for Secondary Employment Agency Compensation

This position is classified as "non-exempt, hourly" and is assigned to pay grade 24.
