Job Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Instructional Support, the Online Systems Manager administers and maintains SCC's online learning platforms, academic technology, and website. Provides support for learning management system issues. Troubleshoots and resolves LMS errors and implements LMS updates. Assists in testing, documentation, and rollout of learning management system upgrades and customizations. Coordinates with academic leadership, faculty, and staff to support quality course design and digital teaching strategies. Assists in the development of new online courses and the review of existing online courses for quality online course design and minimal technical problems.
Administers and maintains SCC's online learning platforms, academic technology, and website. Supports faculty and staff in using the learning management system effectively through training and documentation. Provides support and training to students enrolled in online, hybrid, and web-enhanced courses.
Provides front-line technical support for learning management system issues, escalating complex problems when needed. Troubleshoots and resolves LMS errors, content and accessibility issues, and permission problems in a timely manner. Ensures the health of existing academic technology.
Collaborates with IT, academic departments, and vendors as needed to implement LMS updates, new features, and third-party tool integrations. Assists in testing, documentation, and rollout of learning management system upgrades and customizations.
Coordinates with academic leadership, faculty, and staff to support quality course design and digital teaching strategies. Assists in the development of new online courses and the review of existing online courses for quality and accessible course design and minimal technical problems. Surveys LMS usage data and analytics to inform decision-making, accreditation, and support student success initiatives.
Actively serves in related College committees, including SCC Online Advisory Group and Online Course Review Committee.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.
Preferred Qualifications
A minimum of 3 years of experience in education, instructional design, training, technology support, or other related areas; computer proficiency, including web browsers and Microsoft Office; and previous experience using or supporting a learning management system (e.g. D2L Brightspace, Blackboard, Moodle, or Canvas) or web content management system (such as WordPress or Drupal).
Additional Comments
Will work in an office environment. May occasionally travel to other campuses or off-site meetings or conferences.
