75K - 100K plus bonus Next Step Innovation is seeking a Network Engineer to become an integral part of our team. You will be responsible for maintaining computer and information network environments for our key clients. You will work remotely from home as well as spend 50% or more of your time onsite assisting with our client's needs. This candidate has previous experience in networking, IT consulting, or other related fields. Our ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skill as well as attention to detail. Overview
Remote work with onsite expectations; preferred candidate will be comfortable traveling to client sites as needed. Customer Focused Well spoken and organized - Experienced with customer communication and expectations Comfortable in exploring and documenting new customer environments Experienced with network troubleshooting - from layer1 cabling, L2 sub-netting / VLANs, to L3 as well as wireless Familiarity with WLAN / LAN security best practices - 802.1x, TLS Familiarity with large campus networks
Internal Responsibilities
Maintaining organized tasks lists and updating ticketing software Familiar with project management stages Continued education - both informal as well as attending lead technical training Obtain new certifications Change management detail Maintaining integrity in accessing customer infrastructure
Engineering Qualifications
3+ years of in-depth LAN - Configuration - Troubleshooting - Maintenance 3+ years of hands-on WLAN engineering Implement local area networks (LAN) Upkeep and troubleshooting of WLAN physical (RF, attenuation) and logical infrastructure Deploy test plans to check infrastructure and system performance Implementation and troubleshooting of dynamic routing : OSPF and BGP Proficient with Layer 2 technologies - VLAN, STP, LLDP, QoS Comfortable with key networking troubleshooting tools - Solarwinds, PRTG, Ekahau Basic Systems and Virtualization Skills are Preferred Basic Storage Skills are Preferred
Preferred Certifications (Manufacture Experience)
Aruba networking experience - Required Aruba Professional certifications - required ClearPass experience - Preferred Juniper networking experience - Preferred Cisco networking experience - Preferred Cisco certifications CCNA / CCNP - Preferred Fortinet experience - Desired Palo Alto experience - Desired AWS / Azure experience - Desired
