Data Analyst II - Maintenance Division (2502637) Position Information Have a passion for working with data and leveraging data to improve business processes? TxDOT's Maintenance Division is seeking a Data Analyst II to support various maintenance support activities ranging from reviewing data quality in the Maintenance Management System (MMS), providing technical assistance on data entry and reporting within the MMS, and analyzing routine maintenance contract bidding and payment data. The ideal candidate will have some experience working with data, reviewing and developing charts and dashboards, and be willing to learn and adapt on the job as new data challenges arise. Salary

Minimum Salary: 64,000.00 Maximum Salary: 74,000.00 Pay Basis

Performs routine data analysis and data research work. Conducts detailed analysis and extensive research on data and provides results in various formats. Uses standard statistical tools, methods and techniques to translate data into actionable insights using data visualization software. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Creates and maintains standard reports and dashboards; collaborates with end users to gather report requirements and ensure proper testing and validation. Compiles and queries maintenance data and presents findings and observations to other TxDOT employees. Analyzes bid and payment data using standard statistical tools, methods, and techniques to identify opportunities for improvement. Creates regular schedule of data reviews and updates based on evolving business needs. Reviews programmatic data and identifies problems with data quality; works with end business unit to correct data. Supports offices statewide in areas of data entry and software troubleshooting in the MMS. Performs other job responsibilities as assigned. Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Mgmt Info Systems, Comp Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related discipline. Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis. Experience:

1 year of experience in data analysis, research, compilation, and/or report writing and design work experience. Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Licenses and Certifications:

Valid drivers license. This position requires driving a state vehicle. Preferred Qualifications

Experience with highway operations and/or maintenance data preferred. Experience with Tableau or similar analytics platform also preferred. Experience with Python, R, or similar programming language desired. Using Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, or Qlik Communicating technical information effectively The use of technical tools such as Excel, Access, SQL and other heavy data analysis Ability
