Overview
80% Experimental Research - Conduct research into the cellular and molecular mechanisms of the development and progression of neurodegenerative disease Spinocerebellar Ataxia type 1 (SCA1). Researcher will be responsible for culturing and using iPSCs approaches in the lab as well as using mouse models of SCA1. Researcher will be responsible for the design of independent research studies and will be expected to collaborate across teams on multiple ongoing projects. In addition, researcher will regularly conduct research experiments and procedures which include but are not limited to; preparing samples for single-cell RNAseq and proteomic analyses, immunohistological staining and analysis using microscopy and imaging techniques; performing confocal and two-photon calcium imaging in cells, organoids or brain slices; analysis and interpretation of results. 20% Other Scientific Duties - Review literature as suggested by the research; select relevant facts, techniques and procedures from the literature; present at lab meetings. Researcher will be responsible for writing manuscript drafts reporting experimental results as well as review articles, training students and other researchers. #J-18808-Ljbffr
