Rapidly growing, highly profitable company with the backing of one of the nation's largest private companies is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its team.
Position Summary
Working hand in hand with the VP of Finance, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing key accounting functions including work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, revenue recognition, fixed-price contracts, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll, and audit support.

Position Summary
Working hand in hand with the VP of Finance, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing key accounting functions including work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, revenue recognition, fixed-price contracts, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll, and audit support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Prepare and review WIP reporting for construction projects, ensuring accurate revenue and cost tracking.
- Apply appropriate revenue recognition methods in compliance with GAAP and industry standards.
- Maintain and review accounting for fixed-price contracts, including billing, cost allocation, and revenue recognition.
- Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate entries.
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accurate cash position reporting.
- Manage payroll processing and related reporting, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Support internal and external audits, including preparing schedules, supporting documentation, and responding to inquiries.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support management decision-making.
- Identify process improvements and implement best practices within the accounting function.
- Collaborate with project managers, operations, and finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in construction accounting.
- Strong knowledge of WIP reporting, revenue recognition, and fixed-price contract accounting.
- Familiarity with audit processes and preparation of audit schedules.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Accumatica) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines- roll up your sleeves and get the job done.
