As a key contributor to UChicago Professional\'s vision, the Coordinator of Professional Development and Student Experience enhances student engagement by developing, promoting, and facilitating access to resources, services, and events. This full-time, year-round position focuses on elevating student experiences through strategic outreach and a range of co-curricular activities, underpinned by inclusion, scalability, and innovation principles that emphasize career mobility. The Coordinator assists in overseeing initiatives that provide UChicago Professional students with access to social, wellness, and career development resources. Reporting to the Associate Director of Professional Development and Student Experience, they help pioneer student-centric initiatives that connect learners across UChicago Professional\'s programs and foster a community of shared knowledge. Responsibilities
Under the Associate Director\'s guidance, assist in creating and delivering a catalog of quarterly enrichment and engagement activities for professional education students, domestic and international. Collaborate with the Student Advisory Board to develop initiatives that enhance student inclusion, belonging, and engagement. Coordinate communication and event management tools to support outreach and events; engage online, hybrid, and in-person learners across time zones. Research and implement sustainable strategies to engage online learners and foster belonging through virtual communities and asynchronous discussion. Ensure virtual engagement opportunities are inclusive and accessible for students with diverse schedules and locations. Build relationships with alumni and program completers to support student experiences and development initiatives. Assist in planning UChicago Professional signature events (orientation, special programming, recognition, commencement); coordinate details including communication, venues, travel, materials, and technology. Manage event creation and updates across platforms (Slate, ClickUp, Google Forms); maintain event tracking and attendance data. Promote events via LinkedIn, newsletters, and program listservs; handle follow-up tasks and surveys. Prepare monthly newsletters (Mailchimp) and draft event announcements for internal and external channels. Collaborate with Marketing, Communications, and Enrollment Management to keep the UChicago Professional site and events page current; recommend content updates for new services and resources. Manage LinkedIn groups with program directors to reflect student interests and geographic diversity; create engaging content to stimulate conversation. Support asynchronous and interactive content for online engagement (e.g., prompts, virtual bulletin boards, spotlight features). Curate and distribute job and internship opportunities by industry twice per month; research career development resources for non-credit students. Coordinate outreach with professional development partners and recruiters for webinars and virtual career fairs; partner with program managers to expand access to global career pathways, externships, and networking. Advise and contribute concepts for programming to leaders of organizations and programs; market student activities and evaluate program effectiveness. Performs other related work as needed. Qualifications
Education:
Minimum: a college or university degree in related field. Preferred: Master\'s degree in higher education, student affairs, communication, international education, or related field. Work Experience:
2–5 years of experience in a related job discipline. Experience:
2–4 years in student affairs, academic program administration, communications, or event coordination; experience with higher education or globally focused organizations; experience with professional/adult learners and non-traditional student needs; virtual event planning across time zones is desirable. Preferred Competencies:
Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication, ability to manage multiple projects, familiarity with Mailchimp, LinkedIn, Slate, Zoom, and ClickUp or similar systems; creativity in developing content and engaging communities (especially on LinkedIn); commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and high-quality learner experience.
