The Advancement Office engages alumni (~220k), current students, parents, and friends of the University through intellectual, professional and social activities on campus, around the world and online. Advancement raises $600 Million annually to support faculty and researchers, practitioners and patients, and students and programs across the University. Our work supports priorities in every division, school, department, and institute. The Analytics and Technology Solutions (ATS) team provides technology and system solutions to enable Advancement to meet aggressive fundraising goals and measure, analyze and predict growth in constituency giving and participation. Using an enterprise approach to data and systems, ATS creates a data and user environment that is consistent yet agile. Collaborating with stakeholders to understand program strategies, ATS develops data, reporting, and analytics solutions that lead to actionable outcomes and actualized goals. Job Summary
The Marketing Technology Analyst assists in configuration and execution of digital communications and engagement programs across Advancement. With direction and guidance from the Director of Digital Operation, this position collaborates with marketing, data, and technology teams to ensure seamless and effective delivery of targeted fundraising campaigns and other outreach using platforms such as Marketo and Salesforce. The Marketing Technology Specialist is responsible for applying established processes and application templates to build email segmentation, campaign workflows, and performance reports. This role also supports implementing new technologies and enhancing integrations to streamline operations and improve digital infrastructure. This role is a liaison between the IT group and business to support the development and implementation of new systems and enhancements of existing systems. With moderate/high guidance, evaluates new IT developments and evolving business requirements, and uses elementary knowledge of University systems to recommend appropriate systems. Responsibilities
With moderate direction from others, work closely with multiple teams within Advancement to configure technical systems to deliver highly effective event, solicitation, and engagement communication programs. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to build, test, and execute email segmentation, reporting, and campaigns within communication systems to align with business requirements. Build Salesforce campaigns to guide campaign performance. Work with data from various sources and tools to optimize content and messaging in programs by behaviors and personas. Assist in updating marketing campaign workflows as changes to business requirements dictate. Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying areas where automation and operational efficiencies can enhance productivity and campaign effectiveness. Collaborate with software development teams and cross-functional stakeholders in building new and enhancing existing systems by testing, debugging, and implementing software solutions. With direction from others, provide ongoing administration and support for existing communications systems to ensure data integrity and system performance. Assist in maintaining documentation for all processes related to Digital Operations. Support the marketing team in analyzing and reporting marketing data (campaign results, conversion rates, etc.) to help shape future marketing strategies. With moderate direction from others, provide Tier 2 support for alumni technical support response to help constituents gain access to and use Advancement Communications sites and University services. Seek opportunities for professional development that will enhance job performance including attending webinars, seminars, building networks within the University and with colleagues at peer institutions. Prepare functional, system, and program specifications. Assist in revising existing system logic difficulties as necessary, under the direction of more experienced colleagues. Support the IT development group in building new systems and enhancing existing systems. Assist in coding, testing, debugging, and implementing software solutions. Prepare documentation on system enhancements and/or alternatives. Evaluate new IT developments, keep up with evolving business requirements, and use knowledge of University systems to recommend appropriate systems alternatives and/or enhancements to current systems. Background with data analysis and communicating complex topics to non-technical people. Managing cross-team projects. Technical Skills or Knowledge: Demonstrated skill and knowledge of, or ability to learn quickly, the internal workings of the University as well as the technology tools available to Advancement, including Phoenix, the University\'s Donor Relationship Management System. Proficient in a Microsoft Windows computer environment, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills characterized by the ability to listen, speak, and write effectively. Explain complex ideas clearly and simply. Manage confidential information with discretion and tact. Act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Work collegially and collaboratively in a team setting. Self-motivated and take initiative. Prioritize multiple projects and independently follow through with detail. Working Conditions
This position has a hybrid work schedule which includes weekly in office presence. Standard office environment. Travel to campus and/or non-campus locations for University business.
