Overview
Reporting to the Board of Directors, Unite NY's next ED will lead a growing organization to achieve pro-voter electoral reforms across the state. The next ED will have a passion for inspiring the range of people who will make change possible while concurrently building the infrastructure and systems needed to responsibly grow the organization. The organization values collaboration, experimentation, and a people-first leadership approach. The ED should be committed to the mission and willing to put in the hard work to achieve it. Responsibilities
The Executive Director will: Lead Unite NY in pursuing pro-voter electoral reforms across New York State; inspire staff, volunteers in every region, partners, and allies to advance shared goals; build the infrastructure and systems necessary for sustainable growth; engage with New York State political decision makers and other stakeholders; and bring an entrepreneurial and innovative approach to business planning and operations. Requirements
Qualified candidates will have ten or more years of experience in political strategy, non-profit leadership, or community development. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in fundraising, public relations, marketing, and advocacy in New York State. Must have proven ability to develop and grow relationships with donors, volunteers, and stakeholders. The Executive Director will be a people-first leader with an entrepreneurial mindset and an innovative approach to business planning. Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Political Science, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related fields required; master’s degree (or equivalent) in business, human resources, or finance preferred. Must be located near, or willing to spend significant time in, Albany during Legislative Session; and be committed to visiting partners and attending events statewide. Benefits
