Tri-Valley Haven is dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment for individuals and families experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, homelessness, and poverty. For over four decades, we have provided services that empower, inspire, and promote independence. We are currently seeking a Director of Domestic Violence Services. Responsibilities
General Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Director of Domestic Violence Services provides overall management of the domestic violence shelters, the crisis line, the domestic violence supportive housing programs, Tri-Valley Haven’s transitional home, and restraining order clinic. Leads weekly departmental staff meetings. Responsible for oversight of facilities. Ensures contract compliance and performance. Responsible for hiring, training, supervising, evaluating and terminating departmental staff. Initiates programs and funding. Part of the Tri-Valley Haven Management Team. Areas of Responsibility Oversight of Domestic Violence Services Department:
Responsible for overall management and operations of the shelters, the Tri-Valley Haven Hotline, the housing programs, and all DV wrap around services; keeps the Executive Director current on issues. Ensure all departmental staff and volunteers record services and statistics and keep client files updated in the client database. Create, present and track department budgets and present annual program budgets to the Executive Director. Oversee screening of clients, and guide case managers in adhering to intake/assistance qualification guidelines. Comply with all laws and ethical mandates regarding client welfare, including elder abuse reporting, CPS reporting, 5150, and suicide assessment. Review and update SOPs, client intake packets, safety protocols, and related materials annually or as needed. Oversee facilities to ensure safety, cleanliness, and a homelike environment where possible. With the Contracts Manager, assure contract compliance and timely program reporting for DV services contracts. Oversee the client grievances process. Departmental Staff Supervision Hire, train, supervise, evaluate and terminate departmental staff, volunteers, interns, and trainees. Lead weekly departmental staff meetings. Maintain records on all departmental staff: job descriptions, work plans, performance reviews, time sheets, and expense reimbursements. Ensure personnel practices conform to agency philosophy, policies, and legal requirements. Maintain a high level of work ethic and keep the Executive Director informed of departmental and program issues. General Tasks Make community education/public speaking presentations representing Tri-Valley Haven, including advocacy training sessions. Provide the Executive Director with a monthly departmental status report including program funds spending status. Attend Management Team meetings, staff meetings, and Board/Staff meetings as needed. Participate in community fundraising and special events as needed. Must have an insured automobile for agency-related business, including transporting clients; maintain a good Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). ADA Essential Tasks Working alone; working in high stress / emergency situations; good reading and distance vision; learning ability; ability to speak clearly; cognitive reasoning; problem solving; lifting and carrying 10 to 20 pounds; gloves or hand protection.
