Manufacturing Program Director
to join a Global Electronic Manufacturer located in Wayne County. This Program Leader will report to the General Manager and lead a program management team for the site. This ideal candidate will be responsible for directing the efficient and cost-effective operations across manufacturing, operations, finance, and quality; closely working with customers to define the program roadmap, ensuring customer programs progress within timeline and budget; addressing engineering bottlenecks; and driving standardized procedures and processes to achieve improvements in on-time delivery (OTD), cost, and waste reduction. This is a permanent opportunity with lucrative compensation, bonuses, benefits, relocation assistance. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Direct the plant operations of manufacturing, safety, maintenance, and capital projects to achieve operational objectives within the plant. Provide hands-on leadership to both direct and indirect reports, oversee staffing outlook, training and career development, performance reviews, and discipline as required. Improve operational systems, processes, and policies in support of the company’s mission and optimize plant operations to meet customer requirements. Oversee production and process performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive continuous improvement to achieve cost savings and higher efficiency. Oversee capital projects and plant engineering projects; determine operational improvement initiatives, plans, and corrective actions to optimize plant operations across control systems and plant equipment; provide input on capital investment. Evaluate process capability, reliability, and overall efficiency to develop improvement strategies and further optimize safety, reliability, and efficiency across all automated systems; apply Statistical Process Control to sustain and continuously improve process and equipment reliability. Monitor and develop plant KPI and metrics; collect and analyze data on plant output, cost, yield, and scrap to identify areas of improvement and cost-saving opportunities. Act as a change agent to drive changes across the organization, providing hands-on leadership and mentorship to improve overall plant performance. Collaborate with the quality team to support root cause analysis and corrective actions to drive improvements, reduce rework and return issues. Collaborate with Supply Chain to develop and improve Inventory KPIs and metrics on raw and finished goods; optimize safety stock strategy to avoid shortages, overstock, and obsolescence; promote inventory accuracy to control inventory cost. Collaborate with program managers, product managers, R&D, Engineering, and production planners to improve materials flow, implement Kanban and lean processes to shorten lead times and improve inventory performance (turns, days of supply, safety stock, cycle stock). Collaborate with Purchasing to improve procurement strategies and ensure proper replenishment to meet production volume and avoid slow-moving inventory. Collaborate with customers to manage forecasts, address engineering change orders, and mitigate supply bottlenecks to ensure timely fulfillment of customer demands. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience Recent experience as Plant Operations Manager or Manufacturing Manager Experience in EMS Manufacturing, Electronics, or electro-mechanical manufacturing industries strongly desired Hands-on leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop people Strong problem-solving, analytical, critical-thinking, and communication skills; ability to interact with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams Solid experience in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S/6S; Six Sigma/LSS certification is a plus Lucrative base compensation, annual bonus, PTO and paid holidays 401(k) with match, company-paid life and disability insurance, and relocation assistance
