Ainsley Search Group is hiring a Director of Supply Chain to join a Global Electronic Manufacturer located in Wayne County, New York. This Director will report to the Global VP of Operations and lead the purchasing and planning team to oversee demand forecast, warehousing, inventory planning, purchasing to streamline S&OP, SIOP, and capacity planning across raw materials, manufacturing, warehousing and purchasing. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity with a lucrative base salary, bonus and competitive benefits, with the company aiming to develop the right individual to be the Director of Operations in the future.

Responsibilities

Report to VP of Operations and lead a team to streamline inventory, warehousing, demand forecast, supply planning based on customer projects and production volume, and optimize materials flow from raw materials to finished goods.

Develop and improve Inventory KPI and metrics on raw and finished goods, optimize safety stock strategy to avoid shortage, overstock, and obsolescence issues, and promote inventory accuracy to effectively control inventory costs.

Oversee warehouse operations, optimize stocking, pick-pack and slotting strategies to further optimize JIT material flows from inbound, WIP and outbound.

Collaborate with program manager, product manager, R&D, Engineering, and production planners, based on short-term and long-term planning and production demand to improve materials flow, implement Kanban and lean processes to shorten lead-time and improve overall inventory performance (turns, DOH, Safety Stock, Cycle Stock).

Oversee Purchasing team to improve procurement strategies, ensure proper replenishment strategy to meet production volume and avoid slow-moving inventory.

Collaborate with customers and closely manage customer forecast, address engineering change orders, and supply bottlenecks in a timely manner to mitigate risk and ensure JIT fulfillment with customer demands.

Drive continuous improvement in material cost, quality, supplier performance, lead-time across logistics, inventory, production, and demand.

Collaborate with 3PL on import, export, and domestic shipments, identify cost-effective routes and support sourcing for new logistical methods as needed.

Lead inventory cycle counts, analyze warehouse space to identify the best stocking strategy such as warehouse layout, slotting and picking methodologies for both existing and new materials.

Track inventory trends using ERP, identify bottlenecks and issues, and work with management to identify root cause and implement corrective actions to avoid recurring issues.

Provide hands-on leadership to subordinates, and work with Supply Chain Manager to determine staffing, training, and career development strategies.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related field; higher education desired.

7+ years of tenure as Materials Director, Supply Chain Director, or Supply Chain Operations Leader within manufacturing industries; exposure to fast-paced, JIT contract manufacturing processes strongly desired.

Solid knowledge of MRP/ERP and Microsoft Excel.

Recent experience with JIT, Lean Manufacturing Processes, Kanban or Six Sigma methodologies.

Strong in problem solving, innovation and creative thinking.
