Job Summary:

The MAP Trainer will design, deliver, assess, and continually improve the Medication Administration Program for staff, volunteers, and interns. The trainer will ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies. This role combines instructional design, hands-on assessment, coaching, and performance measurement to ensure safe and accurate medication administration across all program services. Job Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain MAP training curricula aligned with regulatory requirements (e.g., state nurse practice acts, Deliver engaging instruction to diverse learners using a variety of methods (classroom, simulation, e-learning, hands-on practices). Conduct prerequisite screening, competency assessments, and skills checks for all MAP participants. Create and administer knowledge assessments, practical evaluations, and scenario-based testing. Maintain up-to-date MAP policies, procedures, and training materials; ensure accessibility in multiple formats. Provide coaching and remediation for staff requiring additional support to achieve competency. Facilitate new employee onboarding and annual recertification for MAP competencies. Collaborate with nursing leadership, QA teams, and program managers to ensure quality and safety in medication handling and administration. Track and report training metrics (certification status, pass/fail rates, remediation progress, expiration reminders). Maintain documentation in the learning management system (LMS) and personnel records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with state/federal privacy laws. Stay current on best practices, regulatory changes, and disaster preparedness related to medication administration. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and incident reviews related to MAP. Provide on-site and remote support as needed; travel to regional sites may be required. Schedule and proctor medication administration testing for Bay Cove staff members within the state regulatory timeframe for MAP certification. Requirements for the Position

Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing, or equivalent MAP credentials as per state requirements. Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical experience relevant to medication administration and patient safety. Prior experience in a teaching, training, or curriculum development role. Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and applicable state regulations governing medication administration. Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills; ability to adapt to diverse learning styles. Proficiency with Microsoft 365, LMS platforms, and documentation systems. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality. Experience in behavioral health, developmental disabilities, or community-based services. Certification in instructional design, adult education, or a related field. Experience with competency-based training and performance-based assessment. Bilingual abilities to support diverse client and staff populations. Strong understanding of pharmacology, medication safety, and administration protocols. Capable of creating engaging, standards-aligned training materials. Proficient in developing and interpreting performance-based assessments. Up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices. Clear, respectful, and constructive communication with staff and leadership. Ability to work across teams and programs to ensure consistency. Proactive in identifying gaps and implementing corrective actions. Professional, mission-driven workplace with a focus on person-centered care. Primarily office-based with opportunities for hands-on training at clinical or community sites. Travel to Bay Cove sites for training as needed (approximately 10–20% of the time; mileage or travel stipend provided if applicable). 40-hour workweek, with flexibility for occasional evenings or weekends to accommodate staff schedules.
