As a Pharmacy Manager, you will lead and develop a pharmacy team that provides exceptional patient care by promoting best practices and leading through change while identifying and addressing performance opportunities. You will support program awareness, onboard newly hired pharmacy team members, and recognize colleagues for their success. The Pharmacy Manager consistently exhibits best practices when working the bench, including quarterbacking the team, providing patients with meaningful counseling, and abiding by all legal and regulatory guidelines, amongst other required activities. Responsibilities
Direct and effective management of the pharmacy team, including but not limited to: living CVS’s purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, provide coaching, and follow up on performance Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following workflow procedures and safety guardrails at every workstation Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, and coaching the team to do the same Proactively offer and deliver immunizations and identify, engage, and support technicians to learn to immunize Support inventory management with a focus on protecting cold chain products Conduct onboarding for technicians and pharmacists, including training on CVS workflow and tracking progress toward licensure Ensure operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalate issues when needed Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a healthy talent pipeline and ensure timely training for licensure Oversee staff pharmacists and district support pharmacists where applicable; manage performance and deliver annual reviews Maintain a flexible schedule to meet business needs while supporting a safe and inclusive team dynamic Review business reporting to identify gaps and develop action plans for workflow, service, patient care, and compliance Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion; foster psychological safety Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, pursuing trainings and CMEs Support access to care and patient outcomes through pharmacist-led clinical care where permissible Understand and comply with relevant laws, regulations, and CVS Health policies; protect patient privacy and ensure a safe workplace Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located Active National Provider Identifier (NPI) Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacist Preferred Qualifications
Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM-EL) program 3-5 years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service Ability to work in the home store and across the market to meet business needs Essential Functions
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe Attention and focus: concentrate on tasks and switch between tasks to meet patient and business needs; ensure prescription information and labeling accuracy Customer Service and Team Orientation: proactively help people and respond to patient reactions Communication Skills: clear verbal and written communication; active listening Mathematical Reasoning: calculate days supply, quantities, and related details Problem Resolution: address challenging interactions and choose appropriate actions Physical Demands: mobility, lifting, reaching, typing, close visual acuity, and ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally Team Management and Leadership: lead by example, delegate tasks, motivate, coach, provide feedback, and maintain accountability Additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager Compensation and Benefits
Anticipated Weekly Hours: 40 Time Type: Full time Pay Range: The Typical Pay Range For This Role Is $70.00 - $88.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary. Actual base salary offer depends on experience, education, geography and other factors. This position is eligible for CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentives in addition to base pay.
