Pharmacy Manager position at CVS Health within Retail locations. Lead and develop a pharmacy team to provide exceptional patient care, ensure compliance with regulations, and support pharmacy operations and patient outcomes. Responsibilities
Living our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices Overseeing the pharmacy team during bench shifts, including coaching and follow-up to improve performance Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails Contributing to positive patient experiences through empathy, collaboration with the patient’s healthcare team, and resolving insurance or medication issues Proactively offering and delivering immunizations and coaching Pharmacy Technicians to immunize Managing inventory with best practices, protecting cold chain products Conducting onboarding for Technicians and Pharmacists, training on CVS workflow, and tracking required trainings and licensure Ensuring operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalate issues as needed Partnering with Store Manager to maintain a healthy talent pipeline and ensure training for licensure Overseeing Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists; delivering performance reviews and closing gaps Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic; managing the pharmacy schedule Reviewing business reporting to identify insights and creating action plans to improve workflow, service, patient care, and compliance Establishing a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion; encouraging feedback and acting on it Maintaining clinical and technical skills; pursuing trainings and CME opportunities Supporting access to care and improving outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care where permissible (e.g., COVID/Flu, Hormonal Contraception) Understanding and complying with federal and state laws, professional standards, and CVS Health policies; protecting patient privacy and maintaining a safe workplace Required Qualifications
Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located Active National Provider Identifier (NPI) Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacist Essential Functions
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends Ability to complete required trainings within designated timeframes Attention and Focus Concentrate on a task over a period of time Pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs Confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety Customer Service and Team Orientation Help people in a friendly manner; notice patient reactions and respond appropriately Communication Skills Use verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues Practice active listening and ask questions appropriately Mathematical Reasoning Compute quantities such as total tablets, days’ supply, and bottle counts Problem Resolution Identify challenging interactions and choose the best course of action Physical Demands Be mobile, lift and bag items, reach overhead, and perform manual tasks for extended periods Handle repetitive finger movements and precise adjustments Stoop and lift up to 20 lbs occasionally; regularly perform visual tasks and read small parts Team Management and Leadership Lead by example, delegate tasks, coach and motivate the team Apply problem-solving skills and maintain adaptability and accountability Coach, reinforce, provide feedback, and address performance as needed Any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager Preferred Qualifications
Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM-EL) program 3-5 years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service Ability to work in the home store and across markets as needed Additional Details
Anticipated Weekly Hours: 40 Time Type: Full time Pay Range: $65.00 - $82.00 per hour Our people fuel our future.
