Overview

Senior Systems Administrator Location:

Washington, D.C. (Hybrid – 2 in-office days/week + 1st Thursday/month) The Senior Systems Administrator will manage IT systems infrastructure, including servers, network equipment, cloud environments, and software applications. This role ensures the security, performance, and reliability of the IT environment while providing advanced technical support to staff across the organization. Responsibilities

Manage IT infrastructure: servers, network equipment, software applications, LAN/WAN, and internet systems. Monitor network performance, ensuring reliability and high availability. Administer Azure and AWS resources with focus on security, cost efficiency, and compliance. Manage device and application policies through Microsoft Intune and Apple Business Manager. Provide advanced support for Windows and MacOS environments. Implement and manage Microsoft Defender for endpoint protection. Oversee patch management and ensure systems remain up-to-date with security updates. Respond to Tier II/III IT helpdesk requests, offering on-site and remote support. Develop and manage backup/disaster recovery strategies, including virtual machine backups. Monitor and analyze system load, usage, and performance trends; deliver reports. Create and maintain documentation, technical guides, and network diagrams. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree plus

7+ years of full-time experience

in systems administration, network support, and backend systems troubleshooting. Hands-on experience in networking, routing, and switching, with Cisco/Meraki expertise. Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies. Proficiency with

Windows and MacOS server/desktop environments . Experience with

Azure and AWS cloud environments , including security best practices. Proven experience managing

Microsoft Intune

and

Apple Business Manager . Familiarity with

Microsoft Defender

and patch management tools. Excellent communication skills, with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users. Strong organizational skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs. Work Location & Schedule

This role is based in Washington, D.C. and follows a hybrid schedule: In-office on

Tuesdays and Wednesdays

each week. In-office on the

first Thursday of each month .
