Tyto Athene is searching for a
Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT)/Publicly Available Information (PAI) Analyst
with specialized expertise in Mandarin Chinese, primarily focused on written sources. This individual will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and reporting on publicly available information in Mandarin, with an emphasis on identifying intelligence relevant to [company/agency goals]. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Mandarin Chinese, particularly in reading and interpreting a wide range of online materials such as news articles, social media, blogs, government publications, and other publicly accessible sources. Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of publicly available information in Mandarin Chinese, including digital media, social platforms, academic publications, and government reports. Identify trends, patterns, and emerging developments in publicly available data that are pertinent to [specific industry, organization, or mission focus]. Provide actionable intelligence to stakeholders by synthesizing large volumes of open-source data into clear, concise, and relevant reports. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing intelligence efforts and inform strategic decision-making. Utilize advanced search techniques, databases, and analytical tools to efficiently gather and evaluate information. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and ethical guidelines surrounding the collection and use of open-source intelligence. Stay informed on the latest developments in OSINT tools, methodologies, and best practices, especially related to Mandarin Chinese language sources. Required
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field such as International Relations, Political Science, Asian Studies, Information Science, or a related discipline. Experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree. At least seven (7) years of experience in open-source intelligence analysis or general intelligence analysis, with a focus on Mandarin Chinese-language sources. Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, with a strong focus on reading and interpreting written content. Fluency in speaking is beneficial but not required. Expertise in using OSINT tools and platforms (e.g., social media monitoring tools, search engines, databases). Strong analytical skills and ability to discern critical information from large sets of data. Excellent written communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly and professionally. Understanding of Chinese social, political, and cultural contexts to enhance the relevance and accuracy of analysis. Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Familiarity with information security practices and ethical guidelines in intelligence collection. Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens. Knowledge of Chinese cyber and information warfare tactics. Familiarity with the geopolitical landscape of China and East Asia. Clearance
