Overview
VP, Global Compensation & Mobility at Wiley. Location: Hoboken (HQ), NJ, USA. The role leads the global compensation strategy, sales incentive design, and global mobility programs, reporting to the SVP, Rewards, People Tech and Insights, and supervising a team of compensation professionals. Salary
Base pay range: $177,700.00/yr - $266,566.66/yr. Salary range may vary by location and other factors. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Design and implement global compensation strategies that align with Wiley’s objectives and rewards philosophy to support talent acquisition, retention, and engagement; lead the development and execution of sales incentive plans; oversee global mobility programs; partner with People Organization leadership to ensure alignment across HR initiatives and drive organizational effectiveness. Compensation Program Management: Direct the annual compensation planning cycle including merit increases, incentive programs, and equity compensation; lead pay equity analyses and ensure fair compensation practices across markets with local compliance; develop job architecture frameworks and leveling structures; create competitive offer strategies and guidelines; oversee rewards governance and global regulatory compliance. Sales Compensation Excellence: Oversee the design and management of sales incentive plans across multiple business units; develop compensation dashboards and analytics to track KPIs; ensure compensation strategies drive desired behaviors and outcomes. Team Leadership & Development: Build and lead a high-performing global compensation team; set goals and provide coaching; develop talent pipelines and succession planning; foster continuous improvement and an inclusive, engaging team culture; manage resources to deliver on priorities. Qualifications
Required: 12+ years of progressive compensation experience, including at least 5 years in senior leadership roles; proven expertise in global compensation design and sales incentive planning; experience managing global mobility programs and international compensation structures; strong analytical and technical skills (HRIS such as Workday, Excel); ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives; excellent executive communication and presentation skills; Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree or certifications (CCP, GRP) preferred. Preferred: Executive compensation experience in a publicly traded company; knowledge of job architecture and career framework development; experience with tools like Syndio, Everstage, or similar platforms; experience in publishing, education technology, or professional services industries.
