About The Role The Education Strategy Consulting Specialist will partner across consulting and with design teams to pursue and deliver projects to educational organizations, technical/vocational schools, community colleges, and/or universities.
Responsibilities
Contribute to a robust and successful Education Consulting practice, helping to identify & source strategic consulting opportunities that leverage Blue Cottage and CannonDesign services to bring value and benefit to our clients
Create meaningful, long-term relationships with education clients and internal partners through excellence, integrity, and reliability
Support strategy and planning work for both small and large-scale projects across various multi-year and multi-phased efforts
Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, the issues they face, and partner with Blue Cottage and CannonDesign leaders to expand services within the Education market
Provide oversight and lead high-performing teams from pre-positioning to pursuit to close
Develop service capabilities and tools that provide long-term recurring value to our practice and our clients, leveraging research and evidence-driven solutions
Develop and implement education market initiatives and client development strategies, in collaboration with Blue Cottage and CannonDesign education leaders
Build on our living-centered design mindset and capabilities as a firm, embedding human-centered strategies that reflect community impact, social impact, operational needs and financial parameters
Support the creation of work plans and project approaches for pursuits
Promote thought leadership, present at national conferences, publish case studies/papers in journals, and develop an admirable network
Play a meaningful role in firm leadership by enabling professional development, mentoring, team leadership, and recruiting
Travel is required, as necessitated by clients and the role
Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
Minimum 10+ years of experience in consulting, operations, or leadership applied in the education setting, preferably at the college and university level
Experience and demonstrated knowledge of capital planning, project governance structures and funding approaches, and the political nature of high investment projects, especially those that are publicly funded
Acumen to conduct capital project financial feasibility studies for building or campus master planning projects
Business Development experience and proven ability to leverage a wide professional network to communicate value and grow brand and revenue
Ability to manage a team and understanding of the business model of consulting including workplans, pursuits, P&L, margin optimization, and deliverable quality
Creativity, critical thinking, and demonstrated results
Ability to work independently, be detail-oriented, and manage multiple projects
Commitment to exceptional work in every interaction
Intense curiosity, systems thinking, and dedication to high-impact outcomes
Salary and Benefits The salary range for this position in the Denver, CO area is $159,500 to $199,400 annually. This range reflects the anticipated base compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on location, experience, and skill level. Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses. We offer a full benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage, flexible spending accounts and voluntary insurances.
