Overview
The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is seeking qualified candidates for an academic position in the non-invasive imaging program within the Blalock-Taussig-Thomas Heart Center. This role involves clinical expertise, scholarship, and teaching within Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Children's Center, renowned institutions with leadership in their fields. The cardiologist will primarily work at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center main campus. The candidate must hold an MD/DO (or equivalent), be board-certified or board-eligible in pediatric cardiology, and hold or be eligible for a Maryland physician license. Candidates should have completed residency and fellowship training; additional training or extensive experience in pediatric and congenital non-invasive imaging, and especially fetal cardiology, is required. Clinical activities will include work in the pediatric cardiology echocardiography laboratory, outpatient clinics, and inpatient rotation. Depending on training, the candidate may perform and interpret pediatric cardiac MRIs and/or fetal echocardiograms. Travel to outreach clinics in surrounding community cities may be required. Rank will be full-time instructor/assistant/associate/professor based on experience.
Responsibilities
Patient care duties including inpatient, outpatient, and echocardiography laboratory work On-call duties for pediatric and congenital cardiology and for non-invasive imaging Teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows Academic efforts including original research and quality improvement Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned Malpractice insurance is provided by Johns Hopkins; benefits include vacation, sick time, CME, health & life insurance, and retirement plan
Qualifications
MD/DO or foreign equivalent Eligible for licensure in Maryland BC/BE in Pediatric Cardiology 3 years pediatric residency / 3 years pediatric cardiology fellowship or equivalent Significant experience or formal training in pediatric and congenital heart disease non-invasive imaging Academic appointment commensurate with experience
