Mobile Engineer Job Description Summary
Responsible to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of HVAC systems, mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment and systems for the assigned property(s). Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and safe working environment, performing rounds, conducting routine assessments, and day-to-day preventive and corrective maintenance for assigned properties. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Perform all plumbing, electrical, or HVAC requirements of the building(s). Maintain heating equipment, chillers (air and/or water cooled), DX units, pumps, cooling towers, fan coil units, VAV, and air distribution systems, etc. Service and repair HVAC package units across properties, including: Single-split System Multi-split System Variable Air Volume (VAV) Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) Constant Air Volume (CAV) Heat Pump Package unit Built up system Open-drive compressors Air Handlers Air cooled condensers Cooling towers Exhaust Fans BMS and EMS systems HVAC controls Monitor and adjust all mechanical/pneumatic equipment, steam stations, control gauges, distributor panels, valves, thermostats, diffusers, and other equipment to provide a comfortable environment for the buildings Verify field conditions and perform repairs or adjustments as needed Monitor Energy Management Repair doors, ceilings, hand rails, floors and other general repairs, adjustments and installations about the property Perform repairs to plumbing fixtures (water closets, urinals, flush valve assemblies, lavatories, etc.) Perform preventive maintenance duties per Cushman & Wakefield standards, including changing filters, cleaning coils, flushing condensers, servicing belts and bearings, adjusting belts, monitoring chemical treatments, and other scheduled routines Inspect engine room, fan room, cooling tower, motors, house pumps, electric rooms, backup generator, fire pumps, sump pumps, and ejector pumps; replace lamps and fixtures; ensure clear access Check emergency exit signs and lights; ensure access to emergency stairs and exits; conduct fire and life safety inspections as per NFPA and local standards Document and report activities to supervisor Respond to emergency situations and customer concerns promptly Comply with applicable codes, regulations, government directives and company policies Safety, Training and Compliance
Complete required Cushman & Wakefield Safety Training as scheduled annually Comply with C&W Uniform Dress Code and maintain neat appearance Adhere to safety and building protocols Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED; apprentice program or trade school preferred 5+ years of related experience in preventative maintenance, service and repair of HVAC package units in a commercial setting 3+ years of related experience operating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a commercial property setting Appropriate licenses/permits as required (e.g., Journeyman/Master Electrician, Refrigeration Certificate of Fitness, High Pressure Boiler License, etc.) Required 608 EPA License; Universal Technician certification for CFCs may be required depending on market Valid driver’s license and good driving record where applicable Basic computing skills (Outlook, Excel & Word) Experience with energy management systems and knowledge of all building systems operations Work Environment and Physical Demands
Professional office environment and travel between properties in varying weather conditions Physical ability to stoop, stand, climb; frequently lift up to 50 lbs; operate ladders and rigging devices Ability to read and understand information; communicate clearly; navigate between departments and properties May work extended hours or shifts; on-call duties may be required Equal Opportunity and Accessibility
