Experience Senior Living
The Experience Senior Living Team is comprised of dynamic professionals that are fueled by their passion to empower people as they grow older to live life to the fullest. They are creators, architects, nurses, researchers, programmers, marketers, facilitators, developers, investors, and caregivers, all focused on making a positive impact on the lives of residents, their families and team members. We are expanding in Florida. Our new community, The Gallery at Tampa, is under development and we are looking for a seasoned Executive Director to support operations during the development stage and beyond.
Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day operations with full P&L responsibility.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, Experience Senior Living policies, standards, and guidelines.
Create and maintain a safe environment for residents, families, and team members.
Ensure adherence to the Resident’s Rights and focus on resident, family, and team member satisfaction.
Analyze data, identify root causes, and develop action plans as needed.
Develop and implement strategies for labor, occupancy growth, revenue growth, expense control, and quality of services.
Lead morning stand-up meetings and ensure meeting minutes are distributed for absent attendees.
Demonstrate strong communications skills (listening, verbal, and written).
Lead and support sales and operational strategies; educate the team on the importance of participating in the sales process.
Partner with the Director of Sales to conduct quarterly SWOT analyses and engage in ongoing discussions on sales/marketing strategies; support sales efforts including tours, follow-ups, outreach, home visits, and building relationships with referral partners.
Coordinate with the Director of Health and Wellness to understand residents’ care needs and ensure solid care plans that support independence and current abilities; meet with residents, families, and team members as needed.
Coordinate with the Director of Memory Care to address challenging situations and support dementia training for staff.
Coordinate with the Director of Life Enrichment to maintain a robust activity calendar seven days a week, including evenings.
Coordinate with the Director of Culinary to ensure diverse menu planning with alternative options and regular tastings.
Coordinate with the Director of Maintenance on ongoing building needs, preventative maintenance, room turns, drills, and CapEx project coordination.
Oversee Employee Appreciation programs and timely employee performance reviews.
Assist in recruiting, hiring, orienting, training, supervising, and evaluating team members.
Contribute to annual operating budgets and capital requirements; support leadership in budgeting, expense management, and variance explanations.
Build high-performing teams and maintain a positive, aligned company culture.
Be able to work in various positions within the community and fill in as needed.
Develop and implement a Manager On Duty system to provide leadership in the community seven days a week; ensure proper training for all assigned Managers on Duty.
Remain active in local community activities and build a network for resident, employee, and volunteer referrals.
May drive the company van, bus, or other vehicles for community activities.
May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or a related field.
Required Residential Care Facility certification based on state regulations.
Three to five years of experience in operations management with a track record of meeting financial and sales goals.
Solid understanding of local, state, and federal regulations as they pertain to this community.
Proven success in operating or maintaining a quality, customer-service workforce.
Willingness to maintain a hospitality-oriented environment for residents, families, and team members.
Solid facilities management knowledge.
Experience recruiting, onboarding, training, and retaining team members.
Strong performance management and leadership skills, including setting expectations, coaching, conducting timely reviews, and applying the disciplinary process when needed.
Basic computer proficiency with company software platforms.
Ability to become licensed or certified as an administrator for assisted living where required by state regulations.
Acceptable driving record per company policy.
Ability to influence others, exercise sound judgment, and solve problems with appropriate independence or collaboration as needed.
Ability to define realistic goals, assign tasks, and deliver results; excellent verbal communication under pressure.
Ability to work within established policies and procedures and think creatively to meet objectives.
Innovative mindset with the ability to generate solutions and programs.
Ability to manage resources and prioritize tasks to achieve goals.
Ability to build productive relationships with team members, residents, families, referral partners, and the executive team.
