This position offers an experienced Finance professional the opportunity to support the Schwab Technology Services Team (STS).
We are looking for a dynamic Director of Finance to lead a team that supports the Schwab Technology Services Enterprise with over $3B in annual expense. The team serves as a strategic business partner, providing financial insights, planning, and analysis to support decision-making and drive operational excellence. This role will lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis for key technology functions, ensuring alignment with corporate financial goals.
The Director will maintain and enhance key relationships as a trusted business advisor in support of STS’s mission to transform how our employees work and how our clients consume and experience investment and banking services through technology. The Director will also provide support and collaboration across the STS organization in support of forecasting, analytics, and business cases.

Business Partnering & Strategic Support
Collaborate with Technology leaders to understand business drivers and translate them into financial plans.
Provide actionable insights to improve cost efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
Support strategic initiatives such as scale and efficiency projects, capacity planning, and process improvements.
Financial Planning & Analysis
Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes for Technology.
Develop and maintain financial models to support scenario planning and investment decisions.
Analyze variances between actuals and forecasts, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
Reporting & Performance Management
Deliver monthly and quarterly performance reports with commentary for senior leadership.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to monitor business health.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting in alignment with corporate standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Accounting, Procurement, Corporate FP&A, and HR to ensure financial alignment across functions.
Support capital expenditure planning and ROI analysis for Technology investments.
Leadership & Team Development
Manage and mentor a team of Senior Managers and Analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and analytical rigor.
Drive automation and process enhancements within FP&A.
What you have
What you have Required
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field
10+ years of progressive experience in financial planning & analysis or related finance role
Strong track record of driving budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing FP&A teams
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate financial insights into strategic actions
Strong business acumen and ability to partner cross-functionally with operations, technology, and executive leadership
Experience supporting enterprise-wide initiatives such as cost optimization or transformation projects
Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast paced, regulated environment
Preferred
MBA or CPA
3+ years in a direct leadership role
Proven experience supporting operational functions (e.g. technology, client services, risk) within a financial services environment
Financial Services Industry experience
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
