Regional Market Access Manager Italy (North/Middle/South) About Madrigal:

Madrigal is a biopharmaceutical company focused on delivering novel therapeutics for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), a liver disease with high unmet medical need. Madrigal’s medication is a once-daily, oral, liver-directed THR-β agonist designed to target key underlying causes of MASH. This is the first and only medication approved by both the FDA and European Commission for the treatment of MASH with moderate to advanced fibrosis (F2 to F3). An ongoing Phase 3 outcomes trial is evaluating it for the treatment of compensated MASH cirrhosis (F4c).

Position Responsibilities

Define and implement market access strategies to ensure access at regional and hospital level;

Manage and maintain institutional relationship with all Regional Health Administration (decision makers, evaluators, influencers/advisers) and in their hospitals (management, medical directions, pharmacy);

Lead the access at regional service and hospital level, and with purchasing centers;

Provide guidance for the development and customization of pharmaco-economic data (cost-effectiveness and budget impact) in line with the specific needs of sub-national stakeholders;

Establish relationships with key stakeholders such as Regional Health Authorities, Medical societies, Scientific Institutions, Payers and Patient Advocacy groups;

Ensure that all activities related to the job comply with the applicable external and internal regulations;

Analyze health economic and structural policy developments in your region to derive strategic recommendations

Present and defend the medical and economic value of our products in discussions with key decision-makers

Collaborate closely with internal teams (e.g., Field Force, Market Access, HEOR, Public Affairs, Medical Affairs, Patient Affairs)

Organize and conduct regional events, advisory boards, and stakeholder workshops

Monitor relevant tenders, reimbursement decisions, and regional-specific regulations

Qualifications and Skills Required

Completed degree in Health Economics, Pharmacy, Medicine, Public Health, or a comparable field

>15 years in the pharmaceutical industry with dialogue with Regional Health Administration and local organization of the Italian healthcare system

In-depth knowledge of the Italian regional and sub-regional healthcare landscape; particularly regarding budgeting approach, tender management, formulary inclusion

Knowledge and leadership of relationships with key stakeholders for the pharmaceutical industry at all levels within Health Organizations

Demonstrate success in drug launching in the regional and hospital market

Holistic and strategic vision

Strong communication skills, negotiation ability, and diplomatic demeanor when dealing with complex decision-making bodies

Ability to conduct strategic analysis and derive operational recommendations

Willingness to travel within the assigned region
