Principal Engineer Software - Site Reliability (San Diego CA) - R10208173 Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Engineer Software - Site Reliability to join our Aeronautics Systems team in San Diego, CA. The selected candidate will work with modern technology to improve system reliability, using automation and monitoring tools to manage IT tasks, minimize downtime, and ensure systems meet defined performance and cyber requirements. Relocation assistance may be available. Clearance type: Top Secret. Travel: Yes, 10% of the time. Responsibilities
Apply software engineering principles to operations and infrastructure problems to build and maintain scalable, highly reliable software systems Develop engineering and automated deployments for datacenter system configurations Respond and resolve reported issues with the system Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot and redline documented procedures Work closely with engineers and technicians in a lab environment Integrate and test software and/or hardware systems in complex IT systems The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced environment with high expectations, handle diverse assignments, and collaborate with system engineers, hardware designers, and integration/test engineers. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master\'s in STEM with 3 years; OR a PhD in STEM with 1 year Experience with VMware products (ESXi, vSphere, vCenter, NSX, etc) Experience in developing/maintaining Ansible playbooks Experience with one or more scripting languages: Python, PowerShell, Bash Strong background in Linux and Windows administration Basic knowledge of Backup/Storage and Network technologies Excellent troubleshooting skills with networks, storage devices and VMs Experience authoring and maintaining technical installation, configuration, and/or upgrade documentation Active Top Secret DoD Clearance with ability to obtain and maintain program access Preferred Qualifications
Program access (PAR) Experience with microservices, containers, and container orchestration (Docker or Kubernetes) Experience with OpenShift Experience with version control; Git experience preferred Familiar with Agile methodology Experience with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Salary and Benefits
Primary Level Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00 The above salary range is a general guideline; base offers depend on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may be available depending on the position. Long Term Incentives may apply for VP/Director roles.
