Overview
This role is for a Data Platform Infrastructure Engineer skilled in AWS and Kubernetes to build and maintain the infrastructure powering our data platform. You will ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of large-scale systems, developing tools and dashboards for monitoring and management. Experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD is essential. You will collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders to build, test, and maintain robust data platforms. Responsibilities
Manage and operate cloud infrastructure in AWS, ensuring high availability, security, and cost efficiency. Scale and maintain Kubernetes clusters, troubleshoot issues, and optimize workloads. Design and implement infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform or Crossplane. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment, testing, and infrastructure provisioning. Implement monitoring and observability using open-source tools such as Prometheus. Collaborate with data engineers, machine learning teams, and internal stakeholders to deliver scalable infrastructure solutions. Provide infrastructure expertise and support to internal customers, explaining how systems are built and how they meet business objectives. Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to iterative development processes. Troubleshoot production issues and drive root cause analysis and resolution. Support AI/ML workflows and pipelines as needed. Key Qualifications / Success Factors
8+ years of experience with large-scale infrastructure systems and cloud environments with strong Kubernetes experience. Must have experience deploying and operating Kubernetes, with deep Kubernetes knowledge. Must have hands-on experience in AWS and knowledge of its ecosystem. Programming and scripting in GoLang or Python with strong fundamentals, system design, tools, and APIs. Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform, Crossplane, Prometheus, and PromQL. Excellent communication skills and experience working with customers to explain infrastructure solutions that meet business goals. Proven ability to work in an agile environment and adapt to changes; strong motivation and willingness to learn. Nice to Haves
Knowledge of building machine learning pipelines. Experience with IaC fundamentals and monitoring solutions. Experience in a customer-facing or consulting role. Knowledge of machine learning and AI concepts. Benefits
