Government Pricing Compliance Senior Manager
at Vertex Pharmaceuticals. Vertex is seeking a Senior Manager for Government Pricing, reporting to the Senior Director of Government Pricing within the US Market Access department. This role supports Government Pricing (GP) and State Transparency Reporting. The Senior Manager is a new, critical role providing subject matter expertise for price reporting and contractual obligations for programs administered by CMS, PHS, and VA. The role focuses on government pricing, enterprise-level thinking, and leadership to guide policy, government pricing reporting, G2N forecasting, contracting strategy, and compliance. The ideal candidate is passionate about patient access, results-oriented, and intellectually curious. This role emphasizes policies and compliance activities, including reviewing contracting proposals for business and GP impacts, interpreting evolving U.S. government payer policies, legislation, and guidance to provide actionable insights for Market Access. The position will provide technical and business expertise for Bona-fide Service Fees (BFSFs) and FMV reviews, GP impact analysis for contracting strategy proposals, and analysis of regulatory changes. The role supports audit readiness activities and helps develop and update Government Pricing Reporting policies and methodologies in response to business or regulatory changes. The position may be remote or hybrid/on-site in Boston, MA (3 days onsite, 2 days remote weekly). Key Duties and Responsibilities
Key contributor within the Government Pricing Team, with knowledge and experience in government pricing calculations and reporting requirements including Medicaid, Medicare, 340B and FSS. Provide actionable strategic and tactical recommendations to adapt to U.S. government payer practices, policies, legislation, regulations, and industry dynamics. Monitor government pricing regulations related to payer, IDN, policy, competitor, and market conditions to inform reimbursement decisions and future access strategies. Collaborate with Market Access Contracting, Legal, and other stakeholders on contract reviews, assessing terms, BFSF, FMV, Class of Trade, and other GP analyses. Lead contract assessments of BFSF tests, ensuring four-part tests are analyzed, interpreted and documented with high compliance. Ensure compliance with Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) obligations through monitoring of FARs and the Veterans Health Care Act. Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and standards in support of SOX requirements and internal/external financial reporting, while staying abreast of CMS Medicaid rules and guidance. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (Market Access Strategy, Contract Operations, GTN, Accounting/Finance, US Public Affairs, Legal, Audit, Commercial leaders) and external Legal/consultants. Who Are You
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Public Policy, and/or equivalent experience. MBA or related graduate degree is a plus. 4-6 years in pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry or state agency, with Government Pricing, Finance, or related government payer/program administration experience. Strong knowledge of pricing and contracting strategy, government pricing methodologies, government and commercial customers, and distribution channels. Knowledge of current policies affecting government programs, pricing, and payment adjustments (e.g., Final Rule, Proposed Rule, Inflation Reduction Act). Experience with pricing policy research (qualitative and quantitative impact assessments). Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data and market trends for FMV assessments. Proficiency with Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Ability to multitask and prioritize. Knowledge of Model N or Revitas/Flex is a plus. Experience reviewing commercial contracts for entities such as Specialty Pharmacies and Distributors, Wholesalers, PBMs, GPOs, or Copay vendors. Core Competencies

$144,000 - $216,000 Disclosures
The pay range is an estimate for base salary. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may be eligible for overtime as required by law. Actual base salary will be based on skills, experience, and job-related factors.
