Position Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Finance to lead financial operations for a dynamic and growing company. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in financial leadership, strategic planning, and capital management. This role requires expertise in manufacturing and cost accounting, working capital management, and leveraging capital for growth. The Director of Finance will play a key role in driving financial strategy, reporting, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership Develop and implement financial strategies that align with company objectives. Provide financial modeling and analysis to support business decisions, partnerships, and growth initiatives. Manage financial risk, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and policies. Support business expansion, including managing multiple entities and shared ownership structures. Financial Reporting & Controls Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, closing books within 5-7 business days of month-end. Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger and financial statements. Implement and monitor internal financial controls and processes. Budgeting & Forecasting Manage the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting. Report budget and forecast updates to the CEO and leadership team, providing strategic recommendations. Review gross margins for optimization and provide insights into sales team commission plans. Produce financial forecasts for new products and growth opportunities. Cash Flow & Capital Management Maintain a rolling 6-month cash flow forecast and a 5-year financial outlook. Ensure adequate capital in business accounts and optimize working capital for growth. Evaluate and implement strategies for leveraging capital efficiently. Technology & Systems Optimization Oversee financial software and ERP system evaluation and implementation. Ensure the effective use of NetSuite or other enterprise accounting software. Leverage Excel, PowerBI, and other data visualization tools to enhance financial reporting. Utilize HubSpot, Ramp, Avalara, and Asana for financial management and workflow optimization. Tax Compliance, Insurance, & Vendor Management Oversee sales and use tax compliance and coordinate tax filings with external CPAs. Manage franchise tax returns and suggest tax strategies. Review and negotiate vendor contracts to optimize costs and service levels. Manage general liability, umbrella, and professional insurance to ensure proper coverage. Team Leadership & Development Manage and develop the Controller, FP&A, and accounting teams. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and financial discipline. Build a high-performing finance team that supports business growth. Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required CPA is preferred MBA certification is a plus Minimum 10 years of finance experience, including leadership roles such as Controller or Director of Finance. Experience in manufacturing and cost accounting. Experience in healthcare or medical industry is a plus. Strong expertise in working capital management and capital allocation. Proficiency in NetSuite or other enterprise accounting software. Strong analytical skills with experience using Excel, PowerBI, and other data visualization tools. Experience with HubSpot, Ramp, Avalara, and Asana is a plus. Proven track record of strategic business planning and managing multiple entities.
