We are open to remote work from any continental U.S. based major city with access to an international airport. Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is proud to work alongside a community of six fellow Diagnostics Companies at Danaher. Together, we’re working at the pace of change to improve patient lives with diagnostic tools that address the world’s biggest health challenges. In this role, you will have the following opportunities, but are not limited to: Overview

Join a team dedicated to advancing and optimizing the laboratory to move science and healthcare forward. Be heard, supported, and encouraged to be yourself as we build a culture that values diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. Danaher’s global organization supports you with tools and a stable, people-focused environment. Responsibilities

Lead, architect, design and develop secure, scalable, high-performance, reliable, and cost-effective AI platform software and services for hematology instrument features. Provide technical leadership to AI engineers to advance AI analysis outcomes and innovations. Translate AI customer requirements into architectural models that operate at large scale and high performance; guide customers on how to run these models. Define, deploy and advance processes for:

AI/ML DevOps including API-first principles, microservices, SDLC/MDLC (model development life cycle), CI/CD, quality, monitoring, security, extensibility and maintainability of software and services. Define templates and processes for the design and analysis of AI models and workflows, data flows, and integration patterns to build a robust future state model. Lead by example to review code, identify design issues, provide feedback, and stay up to date with system changes. Present and build consensus using written diagrams, text, and both in-person and remote presentations to technical and semi-technical audiences. Provide technical leadership to AI engineers, software developers, data scientists/engineers, and product owners/managers through brainstorming sessions, design reviews, and retrospectives. Drive innovation of new hematological parameters based on data pattern discoveries. Lead ambiguous and complex situations to clear, measurable plans. Qualifications

Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. statistics, statistical genetics, imaging science, computational biology, computer science, applied mathematics, physics) or equivalent practical experience. Experience architecting, designing, developing, training, evaluating, and deploying deep-learning models using PyTorch and TensorFlow/Keras. Strong understanding of deep neural network imaging architectures such as CNNs and GANs. Experience applying deep learning and computer vision techniques for image preprocessing, classification, object detection, segmentation, and feature extraction. Strong programming background in Python. Experience developing, training, and evaluating traditional machine learning algorithms such as PCA, SVM, Random Forests, and Gradient Boosting. Familiarity with current deep learning literature and neural network optimization techniques (e.g., batch normalization, pruning, model quantization, residual/skip connections, inception modules, F1 and FID metrics). Familiar with NVIDIA deep learning ecosystem including CUDA, edge/cloud GPU compute SDKs as well as Jetson Nano and Quadro GPU hardware. 8+ years of experience in architecting and building AI/ML products or platforms in a software product development organization. 7+ years of proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Scala, or Spark). 5+ years of hands-on experience in productionizing AI/ML platforms and applications. Ability to lead ambiguous and complex situations to clear, actionable plans. Preferred (Plus)

Experience with Docker, cloud-based compute environments; tools: Git, Microsoft Azure, AWS. Hematology domain experience. Programming expertise with C++/C#.
