Splunk Systems Administrator
– Booz Allen Hamilton Position overview for Navy DoD networks requiring Splunk expertise. Responsibilities
Install, troubleshoot, and administer DoD networks and Splunk environments. Monitor networks to provide performance insights and operational metrics to customers. Identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in mission-critical networks; translate metrics into actionable information. Lead and mentor team members; share expertise and develop new methodologies. Identify opportunities to modernize the network and support the achievement of client goals. Collaborate with team to resolve daily challenges and improve DoD networks. You Have
3+ years of experience as a systems administrator on DoD networks. Experience with installations, configuration, patch management, and upgrades. Experience administering standalone and distributed Splunk Enterprise environments, including cluster configuration and maintenance. Experience configuring and managing Splunk deployment servers to integrate third-party Splunk applications; manage endpoint logging configurations; update Splunk Universal Forwarders; and integrate/manage network data sources (Zeek, Suricata, NetFlow, syslog) within Splunk environments. Experience configuring indexes, custom source types, and creating field extractions for accurate search capabilities. Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating systems and system administration. Knowledge of Navy IT sites, systems, and infrastructure. Secret clearance. High school diploma or GED. Experience with Python, PowerShell, or Bash. Experience with technical writing, acquisition documentation, cybersecurity requirements, and deliverable development. Experience in Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) enclave performing vulnerability analysis of networks, systems, and protocols. Knowledge of systems architecture, systems engineering, interoperability, and IT digitalization. Ability to devise and execute client deliverables, conduct independent research, identify problems, and lead client tasks from inception to completion. Ability to brief technical and non-technical senior leadership on complex issues. Top Secret clearance. Bachelor's degree in a technology field. Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect, Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin, Splunk Core Certified Power User, or Splunk Core Certified Consultant. Red Hat Enterprise Linux Certification. Clearance
