Madrigal Pharmaceuticals is a rapidly growing biopharmaceutical company focused on delivering novel therapeutics for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH). Our medication, Rezdiffra (resmetirom), is a once-daily, oral, liver-directed THR-β agonist. Rezdiffra is the first and only medication approved by both the FDA and European Commission for the treatment of MASH with moderate to advanced fibrosis (F2 to F3). An ongoing Phase 3 outcomes trial is evaluating Rezdiffra for the treatment of compensated MASH cirrhosis (F4c). Department:

Waltham, MA or Conshohocken, PA (3 days per week in office) Position Summary Madrigal is seeking a Senior Director, HR Operations and Systems to shape and scale our people operations globally. This high-impact role will serve as a strategic partner across the business, with a dual focus on enhancing the employee experience and building a scalable foundation for the future of work. You will lead the design and delivery of global HR operational excellence, data insights, and employee-facing processes leveraging our systems (primarily Workday). The ideal candidate brings a consultative, business-minded approach to HR, understands the dynamics of a scaling biotech or life sciences environment, and is energized by shaping culture and capability through data and design. Key Responsibilities Strategic Business Partnership & Planning: Partner with HR, business, and functional leaders to understand evolving business needs and co-create scalable, people-first solutions. Anticipate future operational requirements and build frameworks that support a high-growth, global organization. Global HR Operations Leadership: Lead the global HR Operations team, ensuring service delivery excellence across regions and functions. Build and optimize global processes across the employee journey. Ensure consistent, compliant, and culturally relevant HR practices in the U.S. and international markets. Establish a robust governance structure for employee data integrity and process adherence. Employee Experience & Process Design: Champion a human-centered approach to employee services and touchpoints that drive engagement and simplicity. Streamline HR service delivery by leveraging automation and integrated technology. Develop global knowledge bases, self-service portals, and process improvements to reduce friction and increase employee satisfaction. Data Analytics, Reporting & Insights: Lead the development of real-time dashboards and people analytics tools to monitor and drive key metrics. Translate complex data into actionable insights for executives and business partners. Advance predictive analytics capabilities and elevate HR’s role as a strategic driver of business outcomes. Future-Ready Infrastructure: Build HR operational models and systems that scale with the company’s growth trajectory. Ensure systems and tools are forward-looking, adaptable, and equipped to support a rapidly changing business landscape. Serve as a key Workday leader, ensuring optimization, integrations, and functionality aligned with future enterprise goals. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Data Analytics, or related field; advanced degree preferred. 15+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years leading HR operations in a life sciences or biotech company. Proven leadership in implementing and managing Workday globally as the HR system of record. Experience supporting international operations and designing globally scalable solutions. Core Competencies Strategic thinker with a consultative mindset and strong business acumen. Exceptional ability to synthesize insights from data and communicate with impact to diverse stakeholders. Skilled in change management, process design, and cross-functional collaboration. High emotional intelligence and credibility in advising senior leaders. Compensation & Benefits Base salary is determined by several factors that include the candidate’s qualifications, skills, education, experience, business needs, and market demands.
