Sr. Area Operations Manager (SAOM) - Airgas Location: Atlanta, GA (South Division) and Bessemer, AL area candidates may be considered. Travel at least 50% is required. Ideal candidate location is Atlanta; other listed locations may be considered. Job Description Summary

The SAOM provides advanced operational leadership, direction, and communication to ensure efficient daily operations. Responsibilities include compliance, governance, dashboard efficiency, cost reduction, complex maintenance, safety culture, strategic capital expenditures, and daily continuous improvement in all operational activities. They contribute to budget development, manage operational activities to meet targets, and champion safety and compliance. They manage Area Operations Managers and their teams and lead efforts to achieve performance targets. Responsibilities

Consistently meet internal and external customer needs by supporting established goals and ensuring quality and delivery standards for products and services within the assigned area. Manage Area Operations Managers and their teams; build a culture of safety, engagement, ownership, and collaboration; train, motivate, direct work, manage performance, and resolve associate issues in partnership with the Area Operations Managers; aim to achieve or exceed performance targets. Contribute to the development of capital expenditure budgets and coordinate capital expenditures within the area after approvals. Collaborate with the region Safety management team to ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA, state regulations, and company SOPs. Review production orders and schedules to obtain product data (types, quantities, specifications, delivery dates) to plan efficient and cost-effective operations that meet customer needs. Resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to minimize costs and delays. Implement and revise standard operational practices as needed. Partner with Human Resources to resolve employee relations issues; provide training and equipment to Operations employees to perform their jobs safely and efficiently. Promote safety by leading by example and ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures, and government regulations. Use performance data and dashboards to identify opportunities for efficiency, product movement, availability, and staffing; drive actions to improve performance. Conduct monthly site visits with Area Operations Managers to provide guidance on performance, safety, compliance, audits, and training gaps. Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field required; or up to 4 years of additional relevant experience in lieu of degree plus high school diploma or GED. At least 5 years of increasing leadership responsibility in production or operations, with preference for prior packaged gases industry experience. Experience in developing operations strategies and managing budgets. Experience driving a safety culture. Preferred Qualifications

Previous industrial gas experience preferred. Benefits
