DC Department of Human Resources . This position is located in the Department of the Employment Services (DOES). The mission of DOES is to foster economic development and growth in the District of Columbia by providing workforce training, linking job seekers with employers, compensating unemployed and injured workers and promoting safe and healthy workplaces. The Project Manager serves as a source of expertise, giving advice and guidance to subordinate staff and agency staff involved with various phases of project development. The incumbent is responsible for the successful delivery and implementation of the assigned internal operations projects, and provides leadership to the DOES Office of Information Technology (OIT) staff performing customer service, administrative tasks, and technical support for telecommunications projects. Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day supervision of subordinate staff, establishing work standards, assigning tasks, identifying developmental needs, and evaluating performance. Plan and coordinate work, set priorities, and prepare schedules for project completion. Provide advice, guidance, consultation, and instructions on work and administrative matters. Approve/disapprove leave; serve as a source of expertise for agency staff across project development phases; evaluate progress and adjust project plans as needed. Act as liaison on priority initiatives to increase interdepartmental coordination, monitor project status, resolve technical and administrative conflicts, and keep supervision informed of progress, deficiencies, and actions taken. Develop and recommend corrective actions for deficiencies or potential problems; prepare progress reports with detailed information on status and technical recommendations requiring higher-level concurrence. Coordinate development, approval, and implementation of internal plans, projects, procedures, and reports. Qualifications and Education

Specialized Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the District of Columbia government. Licenses and Certifications

Tour of Duty:

Monday – Friday; 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Duration of Appointment:

Management Supervisory Service (MSS), “At-Will”. All positions and appointments in the MSS serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority and may be terminated at any time with or without cause. Pay Plan, Series and Grade:

This position has been designated as security sensitive and requires enhanced suitability screening, including potential criminal background checks and mandatory drug and alcohol testing, as applicable. Residency Requirement:
