POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Network & Infrastructure will strategize and align industry leading infrastructure and network technologies with business objectives and cybersecurity best practices. This includes planning, decision making, implementation, and maintenance of all aspects including but not limited to, cloud, on-premises network, storage, virtualization platforms, server management, along with all enterprise and real estate asset networks including wired, wireless, building risers, IT and OT technologies. Daily tasks range from strategizing and reporting results to leadership, balanced with hands-on assistance and troubleshooting, managing project milestones, and collaborating with IT personnel to achieve business objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and set priorities for our Managed Service Provider (MSP) and internal network team

Liaise with our Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) for cyber security related issues

Manages a team of direct reports through mentorship and professional development

In depth / hands-on knowledge of servers, firewalls, switches, building risers, wired, and wireless network protocols

Develop and maintain key indicators and alerts ensuring critical infrastructure services to meet service level agreements and availability time

Incorporate cybersecurity into our network and infrastructure operations, including application of patches, hot fixes, and upgrades on a regular and timely basis

Experience with the planning, design and the implementation of network enhancements and new capabilities

Architect a robust server, cloud, network, and wireless environment aligned with strategic business requirements

Communicate network related issues, failures, and potential impact to hardware or software to superiors

Provide guidance on the architecture and design of networks supporting both Enterprise IT and OT devices

Support the implementation of IoT and PropTech solutions in a secure manner, with a focus on building systems and sustainability

Manage projects in an Agile Methodology ensuring timely delivery and documentation

Develop, schedule, test and communicate the IT Disaster Recovery plan and procedures

Incorporate cybersecurity best practices to all aspects of the network and infrastructure

Author and edit SOPs (Statements of Procedures) and system documentation and ensure they are properly updated to reflect current status or changes

Collaborate with the helpdesk, application, and cyber teams to support diverse business initiatives

Prioritizes work efforts to balance operational tasks, remediating technical debt, and long-term strategic initiatives

Strike a balance between hands-on, management, and strategic thinking

Manage multiple projects simultaneously

Monitor daily backup operations, ensuring all data resiliency and availability

Lead a team culture of engagement, productivity, and accountability

Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends as business needs require

Maintain network stability and availability to support business initiatives

Successfully deliver projects on time and on budget

Implement system upgrades or replacement with minimized system down time or impact on users

Maintain a solid working knowledge of all ESRT technology systems

Investigate new technology and solutions to ensure ESRT is well positioned for growth

Configure computer hardware and software for optimal network communication and cybersecurity

REQUIRED INTERPERSONAL SKILLS / ABILITIES

Ability to develop effective relationships with business users, technical staff and executive management

Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Strong Vendor Management, Time Management, and Project Management skills

Ability to engage, lead, and develop a highly motivated and productive team

Excellent written and oral communication skills with a strong work ethic, hands-on, with a customer service mentality

Communicate with internal / external clients in a calm, polite, respectful, and professional manner

Display strong project management skills completing assignments in a timely fashion

Exhibit strong analytical, troubleshooting, and organization skills with an attention to detail

Able to work both independently, and as a member of a team environment

Keep abreast of current and new technology system advances and their potential application to address user business requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

7 - 10 years of IT infrastructure and networking experience

Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field

Real Estate or Financial Services industry experience preferred

MCSE - Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

$190,000 - $200,000 a year

Salary is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, job location, size of property where applicable, and / or certifications. In addition to your base salary, ESRT provides discretionary annual bonuses.
