Overview

HR Generalist – People Operations & Culture | Location: Honolulu, in office | Employee Type: Full-time Regular, Exempt, Salaried | Salary Range: $65,000 – $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience & budget approved Bishop & Company is seeking an HR Generalist on behalf of a confidential Hawai‘i‑based organization. This role supports day‑to‑day HR operations and partners with leadership to deliver HR services across recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, employee relations, and performance management. The ideal candidate is resourceful, hands‑on, and capable of balancing multiple priorities while fostering a positive, compliant workplace. Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

Manage recruiting processes, from job postings to interviews and offers. Facilitate smooth onboarding experiences, including orientation, benefits enrollment, and relocation logistics when needed. Ensure thorough and compliant offboarding, including exit interviews and final pay.

Benefits & Payroll Support

Administer health, retirement, and supplemental benefit programs. Verify benefit billing and work with vendors on issue resolution. Support payroll inquiries to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

HR Policy & Compliance

Maintain and update HR policies, employee handbooks, and procedures. Ensure compliance with federal, Hawai‘i, and multi‑state employment laws. Track credentials and oversee compliance training for staff, including field projects.

Employee Relations & Engagement

Serve as the first point of contact for employee concerns, questions, and workplace matters. Support performance management processes, promotions, and salary adjustments. Plan and coordinate employee recognition programs, events, and engagement activities.

Employee Development

Identify training and professional development opportunities. Partner with leaders to implement development initiatives that align with company goals.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of HR generalist experience across recruiting, benefits, and employee relations. Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred. Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations (federal, Hawai‘i, and multi‑state). Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Must be able to pass a background check and obtain a security clearance. Classification:
