Overview
Staff Engineer – Finance Data Specialist (Remote) at GEICO. This role supports the build out of a Finance Data Warehouse/Lake by partnering with Finance and Technology teams to redesign how they manage GEICO's business data. The Staff Engineer, Finance Data Specialist will report to the Senior Manager of Finance Data & Analytics and will provide solutions to build out, maintain, and support a Finance Data repository to support FP&A processing and analytics, while supporting the broader Finance organization’s need for Finance data. Base pay range $115,000.00/yr - $260,000.00/yr Salary remarks:

Leverage strong functional and technical finance systems expertise to drive the right solution to support current and future needs Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the software lifecycle Support design sessions to ensure systems are well designed, efficient, and meet business expectations Collaborate with Finance Leaders (FP&A, Controllers, Financial Reporting, Finance QA & Systems) and Data Engineering/Finance Technology to build out the Finance Data Lake/Warehouse Establish a vision and technology roadmap for a Finance Data Lake/Warehouse and support FP&A planning/budgeting, financial reporting, and analytics Understand finance data lake/mart concepts and data processing/transformation using ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Informatica, DBT) Design, develop, implement, and maintain data ingestion and transformation solutions Work with cloud data solutions (e.g., Delta Lake, Iceberg, Hudi, Snowflake, Redshift or equivalent) Develop roadmaps for Revenue and Expense analytics and ensure alignment with stakeholders Influence customers and stakeholders to align expectations Support governance and control frameworks for SOX and audit reviews Translate business and functional requirements into technical specifications Share best practices and improve processes across teams Qualifications
15+ years of Finance Systems experience with leading ERPs (e.g., Oracle, Workday, SAP, PeopleSoft) 3+ years implementing/supporting FP&A applications (preferred) 3+ years working with a Finance Data Lake/Warehouse/Mart and Financial Reporting tools Strong understanding of Dimensional Data Modeling Strong SQL and data transformation skills (ETL/ELT) Experience with Financials via major vendors (PeopleSoft, Oracle EBS/Cloud, Workday, SAP) Finance domain expertise to translate process needs into system solutions Understanding of FP&A budgeting, planning, and forecasting Experience implementing or supporting Revenue/Expense analytics (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) Knowledge of accounting processes and reporting expectations Ability to communicate with users across Technology and Finance Project management knowledge; ability to work independently and in a team Experience with SDLC Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent Additional Information
