Technical Accounting Sr. Manager

Revenue Recognition Sr. Manager
to take full ownership of our revenue accounting function. In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for managing revenue recognition policies, evaluating complex contracts, and ensuring alignment with GAAP and ASC 606 standards. You’ll work cross-functionally with sales, accounting, and audit teams to ensure revenue is recorded accurately and timely, and that our practices are compliant, consistent, and well-documented.
Base pay range
$125,000.00/yr - $165,000.00/yr

Responsibilities
Lead the preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements, including accompanying footnotes.
Maintain and update accounting policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring organization-wide compliance.
Research, analyze, and document technical accounting matters, including the adoption of new accounting standards.
Manage all aspects of revenue recognition and ASC 606 compliance.
Experience with ASC 810 helpful as well.
Review and interpret complex customer contracts to ensure correct accounting treatment under GAAP.
Partner with sales and accounting teams to monitor and adjust revenue recognition in response to contract changes or modifications.
Analyze revenue data to identify discrepancies and ensure accurate application of the company’s revenue recognition policy.
Coordinate internal and external audit processes, acting as the primary point of contact for revenue-related inquiries.
Identify opportunities for operational and reporting improvements within the revenue cycle.
Provide strategic support to the Chief Accounting Officer and Controller, including involvement in special projects and ad hoc analyses.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA designation preferred but not required.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience; experience in a multi-entity corporate environment is a plus.
2-3 years in revenue recognition and ASC 606.
Experience preparing full financial statements; MD&A experience is a plus.
Strong technical writing skills, particularly in drafting accounting memos and documentation.
Hands-on experience developing accounting policies, SOPs, and internal controls
