Energy Solutions . We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Product Owner to join our Information Systems team. This candidate will lead product development and implementation of our key software ecosystem, which consists of several interacting software platforms and multiple business unit stakeholders. This position will help develop a team of product owners and business system analysts, implement and improve processes for software development, assist in defining standards for various artifacts, develop metrics for planning and monitoring execution, develop roadmaps for the ecosystem and its parts, and assist in resource forecasting. This is a hybrid work opportunity with onsite requirement (minimum 1 day/week, currently Wednesdays) at one of our offices. Office locations include Oakland, CA; Orange, CA; Portland, OR; Chicago, IL; and Boston, MA. Responsibilities Lead assessment of product opportunities and risks, including providing cost estimates
Lead Agile process implementation and improvement in a hybrid planning environment
Manage a complex backlog in collaboration with business and technology stakeholders, building a standardized process for managing backlog and future work requests
Lead product design: prepare well-documented functional specifications and workflows, guide product prototyping and proofs of concept
Translate customer needs into actionable plans for engineering and design teams, owning features end-to-end and prioritizing the product backlog to deliver maximum value
Establish and maintain product roadmaps including platform health and customer initiatives
Meet with business stakeholders to discuss application functionality related to enterprise-wide or specific program initiative due to contractual agreements
Identify requirements to optimize user experience and provide feedback to clients to ensure technology supports internal/external customer needs
Own and refine user stories and epics in Jira, translating product requirements into actionable work for the development team
Monitor progress of software development efforts to meet business expectations and minimize barriers
Communicate status and results of product development across the organization
Lead efforts to define product metrics to optimize product effectiveness
Coach other product owners and business systems analysts
Minimum Qualifications A bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or other engineering field, and 10+ years as a product owner with successful delivery of multiple products through a complete PDLC lifecycle
10+ years working with software developers and understanding the software delivery and release process
Leadership experience managing small teams of 3–5 junior product owners and BSAs
Strong technical analysis skills translating business needs into technical specifications
Proven experience in data-focused product development with KPIs for product development
Strong communication skills, especially between non-technical users and software developers
Public facing software delivery experience is a plus
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this role is
$107,000 – $140,000 , with a target compensation of
$126,000
based on experience and qualifications. Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a generous retirement package.
