Senior Software Product Owner

to join our Information Systems team. This role leads product development and implementation of our key software ecosystem, consisting of several interacting software platforms and multiple business unit stakeholders. You will bring deep product ownership experience, process improvement skills, a strong background implementing Agile principles in a hybrid planning environment, technical acumen, and a team-oriented approach to drive priorities and strategic direction. The position involves developing a team of product owners and business system analysts, improving software development processes, defining standards for various artifacts, developing metrics for planning and monitoring execution, and building roadmaps for the ecosystem and its parts. This is a hybrid work opportunity. At Energy Solutions, this means working onsite at one of our offices a minimum of 1 day/week (currently Wednesdays) with flexibility for the remainder of the days. ES has offices in Oakland, CA, Orange, CA, Portland, OR, Chicago, IL, and Boston, MA. include, but are not limited to: Lead assessment of product opportunities and risks, including providing cost estimates Lead Agile process implementation and improvement in a hybrid planning environment Manage a complex backlog in collaboration with business and technology stakeholders, including building a standardized process for managing backlog and future work requests Lead product design: prepare well-documented functional specifications and workflows, guide prototyping and proofs of concepts Translate customer needs into actionable plans for engineering and design teams, owning features end-to-end and prioritizing the backlog to deliver maximum value Establish and maintain product roadmaps including platform health and customer initiatives Meet with business stakeholders to discuss application functionality related to enterprise-wide or program initiatives Collaborate to identify requirements for end-user experience and provide feedback to ensure technology supports customer needs Own and refine user stories and epics in Jira – translate product requirements into actionable work for the development team Monitor progress of software development to meet business expectations and minimize barriers Communicate status and results of product development across the organization Define product metrics to optimize effectiveness Coach other product owners and business systems analysts Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related engineering field, and 10+ years as a product owner with delivering multiple products through a complete PDLC lifecycle 10+ years working with software developers, understanding process of effective delivery and release Leadership experience managing small teams of 3–5 junior product owners and BSAs Strong technical analysis skills translating business needs into technical specifications Proven experience in data-focused product development with understanding of defining KPIs Strong communication skills, especially between non-technical users and software developers Public-facing software delivery experience is a plus Compensation

to commensurate with experience with the pay band of $107k - $140k annually. Compensation includes a generous retirement package.
