Overview
Performance Expert (R2PC) - Fort Belvoir, VA at KBR, Inc. Belong. Connect. Grow. with KBR. This position is contingent upon a vacancy at this location. KBR is seeking a Performance Expert to help strengthen the physical and psychological health, resilience and performance of Soldiers, Unit Leaders, Families, and DA Civilians located at Army Installations. The Resilience Training/Ready and Resilient Performance Center Program aims to optimize mental and physical health and support Army training and education programs across installations. The role supports Soldiers, Families, Department of the Defense personnel, US Government Agencies, Allied Forces (ROTC) Cadets, and Department of the Army Civilians (DAC).
Responsibilities
Master Resilience Trainers instruct individuals in holistic approaches to strength, conditioning, and resilience to help ensure durability. Certified Performance Experts manage training intake/registration, initial unit contact, observation, and development of training plans; prepare training materials; facilitate training events; grade student materials; and document grades in required databases.
Assess training impact by distributing surveys, summarizing results in After-Action Reviews (AARs) for each session, and providing AARs to leadership within five workdays of training completion. Maintain training records and observe instructors, providing feedback on delivery. Complete initial instructor certifications to ensure effective delivery.
Deliver instruction focused on resilience and performance enhancement, linking training to unit missions, and incorporating resilience and performance concepts into higher-level guidance. Build professional climates of mutual trust and cohesive teams; apply communication and counseling skills; develop critical thinking and skills to overcome challenges; provide tailored educational programs and workshops to help personnel achieve personal, professional, and family goals.
Required Education/Experience
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Counseling Education, Coaching Education, or Kinesiology with a specialization in sport and/or performance psychology.
Teaching or coaching experience, preferably with military and DoD personnel.
Thorough knowledge of the Army organizational structure, mission objectives, functions, procedures, regulations, and policy relating to the Department of the Army.
Prior to performing PE tasks, PEs shall be evaluated and certified to ensure effective delivery of lessons.
Preferred Education/Experience
Certifications or memberships with professional associations related to the field (e.g., Association for Applied Sports Psychology, CMPC, ABSP) or able to obtain within a year of hire.
