Responsibilities

Performs Depot Level Maintenance of Naval Aircraft Mechanical Systems. An aircraft mechanic, based on blueprints, job orders, engineering specifications, and/or maintenance instructions, shall disassemble, repair, rework and install various systems and components such as wings, control surfaces, control systems, landing gear, arresting gear, fuel cells, instrumentation, and engines. Contractor personnel shall install hydraulic tubing, actuating cylinders, and cable controls. Contractor personnel shall rig, adjust, and perform preflight tests on various flight systems including landing gear, flight controls, instruments, oxygen/environmental systems, and power plants. The candidate shall be able to operate electronic technical publications or be able to learn how to navigate. In addition to these major activities, the contract aircraft mechanic for this program will be required to be assigned on temporary assignment duty across FRCSW sites throughout the US, and Outside Continental United States. Perform installation, adjustment, alignment and troubleshooting for final operational and functional testing on major aircraft weapon systems, assemblies, and components for the H-53 aircraft to include but not limited to overhaul and repair of weapon systems, their assemblies, and components, such as airframes, landing gear, power plants, gear boxes, pumps, and hydraulic systems, pressurization, utility, fuel, oil, pneumatic and flight control systems. Troubleshoots aircraft systems, components, or subassemblies for proper operation. Identifies malfunctions and takes corrective action required (whether portions must be repaired or replaced). Disassembles, repairs, and reassembles major aircraft systems, their assemblies, and components. Connects related systems to the newly installed or repaired units and adjusts the units and their related mechanisms to assure their proper operation. Installs, aligns, and functionally and operationally tests the various major and minor mechanical and pneumatic systems on the aircraft during overhaul or modification, performs engine removal and installation, jacking and leveling, alignment and retraction checks, and other related routine tasks, performs miscellaneous duties such as servicing aircraft, flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes. Additionally, Aircraft Mechanic, should be able to perform the following: Must be able to inspect, maintain, modify, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, and test the current H-53 Type Model Series aircraft fuel systems, their assemblies, and components. Isolates the nature of trouble and extent of adjustment or repair required on refuel/cross-feed mechanisms and pumps, pressure relief valves, fuel bladder removal, installation and leak detection/repair, and other aircraft fuels accessories. Diagnoses malfunctions and overhauls fuel accessories by disassembling, cleaning, and examining parts for corrosion, wear, scratches, cracks, or other damage, replacing gaskets and worn parts. Reassembles accessories, adjusting, and testing to ensure proper operation in accordance with technical specifications such as technical orders, microfilm, manufacturers’ specification manuals, part supply books, blueprints and schematic diagrams; rigs cables and adjusts associated fuels equipment and other aircraft features involving fuels. Fabricates fuel, oil, and vacuum hose lines, makes modifications of aircraft fuel equipment as required by technical orders, uses standard and specialized tools and measuring devices of the trade to complete assignments. Administration duties: Comply with all required trainings and other administrative functions required by the company and the customer. Assist in maintaining NAMP Programs, ensure contract artisans follow Ground Operating Procedures, and ensure personnel comply with safety procedures. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Education: Require a high school diploma or its equivalent Experience: Minimum experience or military experience as an Airframes or Power Plant/Line technician on H-53 aircraft or any vertical lift aircraft of the US Navy or Marine Corps. Other Requirements: Must pass background investigation for Secret Clearance U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US-only data systems Must be able to pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) which could include a credit check. We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post-offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing Will be required to be assigned on temporary assignment duty across FRCSW sites throughout the US, and Outside Continental United States. Skills & Technology Used: Analytical Thinking & Problem Solving — possesses both analytical and interpersonal skills. Good problem solving, negotiation and organizational skills/techniques. Working knowledge with Advance Skill Management (ASM) or willingness to learn the functions. Knowledge of electronic publications like Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) and ability to navigate publications and manuals. Business Partner / Effective Communicator: English language skills to communicate with customers. Strong written and oral communication, ability to train others, and customer service oriented, detail focused, pro-active, multi-task capable. Software: Microsoft Office Suite; ability to access company timesheet systems, training requirements, FRCSW share drives, and mandatory trainings and timekeeping systems. Other: You may be assigned to temporary duties across FRCSW sites and international sites as required. What We Bring

The successful candidate’s starting pay will be based on the current rate agreed in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for this site.
